Ok, ok. It's only a prototype that I got today, but I can't help but being VERY impressed on the care for detail in this replica. Granted, there are some minor errors, that will have to be taken care of yet (f. eks. the stitches on the bottons should be over cross instead of parallel, the stitch count needs to be round about 6 per cm instead of 3.5), but all in all, this is just great IMHO (I didn't make it, so I guess it's ok to say so). The material is the EXACT same as on the vintage MBA shirt. On the prototype of course it hasn't been dyed yet, but the weight, feel and density are identical! Even the stitching on the hem of the shirt was replicated spot on. I'll make a list of the few changes I wanna have made and sent both shirts back. Hopefully I'll get a final quotation soon after, so I can offer them to anyone interested. I've talked to Steve and he'll take care of forwarding the shirts within the U.S., so I can send him a package full of shirts a time - which will cut the shipping costs per shirt down tremendouesly (once we get to that point). Since I have to take 2200 yards of the textile, I'll offer a discounted "taking the plunge offer", for those helping me out to begin with. Any feedback is highly appreciated. Here are the pics: Don't be shy to let me know your honest opinions. If you see anything that hasn't caught my eye, this is the time to change it. Thanks, Marc

I like it, Marc. Only two nitpicky things I can see. The shoulder epaulette button needs to extend just past the pocket pleats. (On the proto they line up right at the end of the pleat - the epaulette button end needs to be slightly past those pleats.) The cut in the shoulders looks good but it seems there might be too much material (room) at the bottom of the shirt. Gathering and bunching, etc. Could just be the photo. How does it fit in comparison to your original? If the bottom of the shirt is made to be fitted also, that might fix the issue with where the pleats and epaulettes currently line up.

Outstanding, Marc! I'm very, very pleased and this is only the prototype.
One other thing of mention is that the button placement on the MBA's started out with the correct Raiders placement, but for some reason he started making all of them with the TOD/LC button placement, which is different.
Also, the MBA was less fitted than the new NH shirts. I had to have mine taken in to match the movies cut fit. Not sure if you cut it in more or used the same measurements as the MBA. If you did copy the MBA it might be better to have the arms slightly taken in as well as the body, but just a bit.
Still, after ALL of the shirt offerings have missed the boat over the years, take great pride that you guys have done the best job yet since Nole started selling to us so many years ago. I mean that honestly.

It's not the botton on the shoulders Tone, but the "stripes" going 1.6cm to far towards the shoulders. I though it would be the botton placement too to start with, but the length of the epaulettes are identical and so are the width of the shoulders. This is on my list already, but input like that is HIGHLY appreciated. Oh, and the opening on the bottoms are similar too.
Jason, I take your compliment very highly. I told just Steve this very Sunday, that your opinion would make or break this entire project. Just to let you know HOW much I actually appreciate your input.
The shirt is round about 20 years old and was bought from Indiana Tom still packet in plastic. He's been wearing it only a couple of times. So I hope it's the "old" cut. When I put it on (I'm 1.85m and 79kg - so rather slim) it fits nice and snug (as in s.a.).
I'll have to send both shirts back tomorrow, as the shirtmaker will only be in Germany for a couple of days.
Thanks for all the kind feedback and input,
Marc

That's what I meant. Where the stripes are lining up at the epaulette, basically, not so much how they got there. Minute details. The epaulettes themselves, of course, are right on. Anyway, you had asked for honest feedback on things before it got mass produced. I was just giving an honest opinion of what didn't look right. Now with the honest adjustment stuff out of the way I also want to say along with the rest that this shirt IS friggin AWESOME! I'm very eager to see the price range you set these at. Really nice work, Marc!

Please don't misread me Tone! I BEG for feedback like this!!! - It's highly appreciated, so keep comming. Dirk, the ballooning comes from the latter it's hanging on... It's not hanging down like the MBA. Good thing on the shirts is, that I can simply take them out of a big box and ship them out, once an order is placed. I'll stay with the long turnaround times on the hats Regards, Marc

Congrats on getting this close, and on finding the right material! My little nitpicky 2 cents bit may have been covered already, but it involves the pointy epaulettes you had copied from the MBA design. Noel changed the pattern to the more screen accurate "non pointy" shape from his older MBA patterns. The ones he sells now are like the Raider's shirt in this regard: Just throwing something into the mix before you have 100,000 shirts made! Congrats again for the progress of the shirt deal, Ken

I am really looking forward to one of these, Marc. Consider one(or 2) sold when the time comes. I have basically all the clothing, EXCEPT the shirt. Keep me on the list. Mike

Hey Marc, You've got a hell of a prototype there, my friend! That thing looks awesome so far, (all the minor tweaks aside) and I'm sure it will rival the best of all the other offerings once you fine-tune the design. I've got an old MBA shirt, but I'm almost afraid to wear it anymore. It's not in bad shape, but it's 8 (going on 9) years old, and it's not indestructible. I know there will only be so many times that I can wear it and wash it repeatedly before it begins to fall apart. With that in mind, I've been looking for another Indy shirt to actually "wear", so I can keep the old MBA safely in the closet. I can hardly wait to see prototype #2! Excellent work! -GCR

All your inputs have been added to the list of changes. I'd like to use this opportunity to thank you all for your highly appreciated help, especially Agent5 who's been nothing but amazing with his help!!! As with the hats, I wouldn't have been able to get all details together just by myself. So thank you!
I'll most probably get the final quotation this very Saturday and then I can let you know what exactly we'll be charging. I have a very carefull quotation incl. the 2200 yards min. requirement of textile that have to be bought. Unless the shirt maker increases his prices due to all the picky changes the prices will be like following:
For people who are willing to support us, we'll offer a certain amount of shirts that can be pre-ordered (not yet) for 50 Euro (round about 65$) plus shipping, which should only be a few bucks. So that would be round about half of a NH shirt.
Once the pre-orders are spoken for, the price will be 60 Euro (round about 80$) plus shipping.
Ok, let's hope that there won't be any price increase and that everything will turn out as planned.
Regards,
Marc

Thanks alot, man. I could tell from the get-go that you were as serious about it as I've ever been and that matters alot. I'm proud that AB wants to maintain the level of accuracy and quality involved in the gear. Soooo many have attempted to recreate the gear over the years and have fallen just short of getting it absolutely right, even when they've had similar help along the way. It amazes me that they're willing to settle for less than they can give and it amazes me that so many fans are willing to settle for second best in terms of screen accuracy when that is what some say they're going for. Good on ya, mate!

Just got a call from my shirt maker... Of course he raised his prices after reading my list of changes. More than I had expected to be honest. But I'll let the price on the pre-orders stand where it is and then we'll have to see later on. I hope to talk him out of this later on So, if you live in Germany or the U.S., incl. shipping it's 55 Euro per shirt. Of course, if someone wants two, it's 2 x 50 Euro plus 5 Euro for shipping. If you live in Europe but not in Germany, it's 50 Euro for the shirt and 10 for the shipping (all un-insured, but I'll insure the shirts I sent to Steve for the U.S. costumers). To get on the list, please paypal to Marc_Kitter(at)web.de incl. a note that tells your size. If you aren't sure, just write that and I'll give you the measurements of the various shirts when they arrive to chose from. It'll probably take some months, before I receive them though, but I'm confident it'll be worth the wait. Regards, Marc

So Marc the shirts right now are running $74 US dollars plus shipping, correct? I'm trying to put a costume together for a video game character but man I'm tempted to jump on this. I need a good Indy shirt. If I had a job this wouldn't be an issue. *sigh*

Marc, not a problem, I was expecting to pay up front (it does make more sense that way, right?). I will paypal the money over to you in a day or so. I just need to throw a few more bucks into my paypal account. I'll send you a PM when the payment is on the way! Thanks Marc! -GCR
