Not really John. Steve and I started making hats, due to the lack of finding something we were 100% happy with ourselves.
Pretty much the same on the leather hardware.
The necesarrity to offer a shirt even though the current NH shirt is pretty close to perfect as it is, occured from the price being outrageous IMHO.
But if you look at things like bullwhips and jackets, there are such great choices out there, that there really isn't any reason to offer yet another alternative.
Regards,
Marc

Yeah, that would be cool if you offered the hat, holster, belt, boots, shirt and pants.

Well, not exactly... Last year and the year before I made a hell lot of losses. So I put that into my tax declaration and got quite a sum back. IF I'd still declare losses for this year, they'd call it a hobby more than a business, and I wouldn't be able to put any losses into my next tax declaration, as they wouldn't accept it. Also I wouldn't be able to buy materials tax free, which would become VERY expensive. So, in case I'd make losses this year as well, I'd have to DECLARE that I made a few hundred Euros profit and then pay taxes for this as well - even though it would be just a faked declaration in order to stay in business. So it really depends on how long I'm willing to bite the bullet. Regards, Marc

I just received the second prototype and except for some tiny changes, this is it. The color is custom made to match the MBA, the shoulder flaps have been improved and so has the button placement, together with some other minor details. I like it! What needs to be done yet is getting the right buttons (which won't be a problem according to my shirtmaker), some tiny modifications on the button holes and on the back of the collar and the pen hole in the left pocket. Can't wait to see it after it's been in the washer - which will be tomorrow! Here are some quick shots, the first with, the other without flash: As always: cristism - good and bad - is more than welcome. Regards, Marc

Marc, Looks great! I can only imagine what it will look like with proper buttons. It will just pop. The only criticism I can offer is that the sleeves look just a bit too baggy compared to the slimmer body. The sleeve cuffs look pretty tight and it seems to puff out right above that. They look just a bit too long, but I have no idea if that is just due to your body type. What do you think?

Other than the changes you've already mentioned (the button color, for one) I can't find too many things about this shirt that I don't like. I will say that it looks a tad on the shiny side in the picture taken "with flash". This, of course, could simply be due to the flash itself (I do vaguely recall my MBA shirt having a slightly similar sheen to it when new, though). The only other thing about this prototype that has me wondering a bit is the slight "puffiness" of the sleeves. This could also be due to the fact that I'm used to seeing shirts like these worn with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow. Any chance of a few pics with the sleeves rolled up, Cairo style? Overall, though, I like what I see and I can't wait to get my own! Great work! -GCR

Hey Marc, Shirt looks very nice However I still see the screen accurate shirt to have non-pointed epaulets. Cheers, John

It's getting even closer and looking good Marc! It should look really nice after being washed too. Other than the changes you mentioned making, I only suggest the same thing John did. If you want this thing to be Raider's accurate, you need to have those epaulettes trimmed. Congrats on the progress, Ken

Thanks for the help gents!!! I'll look into it. I'm aware of the epaulettes being slightly off yet, but that'll be fixed. Trust me I'll double check on the cuffs and the sleeves Jason. Thanks again, Marc

Here's one taken outside at 8:15pm. The shinyness is gone, now that it's washed. Time to take measurements and compare to my notes (especially on the sleeves - thanks Jason) before I send it back tomorrow. Regards, Marc

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!! It looks like a completely different shirt...and it looks GREAT!!! One time through the wash really brought out the extra "Indyness" of the fabric! I'm even more excited now! I can't wait! I have to say, you've done an excellent job on this project so far, Marc! I'm sure the final results will be nothing short of perfect! -GCR

Ok, there WAS a little more to it (took me over an hour to go over it). The pockets are 22mm too high and going from that, the buttons of course the same. The penhole is missing and the epaulettes are a little too short. Also the back shoulder part is a few mm too wide etc. etc. etc. I took a pen and wrote it directly on the shirt this time. All in all it's pretty darn close, but as always "close enough" just won't do Regards, Marc

Hey gang, I received a surprising call from my shirtmaker today, that a friend of his would be on his way to my office with 30kg / 60 pounds of shirts. And sure enough, after a couple of hours, I was called down to fetch something I RAN down to see a car trunk FULL of shirts So I grapped a huge box and started counting while unloading the trunk, moved them over to my own car and left immediatly Back home I ripped the box open, pulled one out and THAT was worth the wait Sorry for the blurry pictures, but when the sun isn't shining, I can't take any pics in direct sunlight Here it is, sporting my 10' Pagey: ...and an AB gunholster: All by itself: ...and a closeup of the incredible well done stitches Hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks to all who took the plunge and pre-ordered one for the special price. I haven't calculated the final price yet and I also need to have the labels made and sewn into the back before I can start shipping them. But I wanted to let all of you that have been waiting for so long know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Regards, Marc
