It's no problem at all! Let me know what you decide to do with your jacket!

Did you have someone measure you to get the right size,or because you have a billion jackets you already knew?? What is best for someone like me ordering a jacket like the hero?

Try measuring a jacket that you know and like the size of, then compare lengths to the Wested site and work off that...

Basically, I already have a billion jackets and already knew.
For someone like you, find a jacket that fits you well and take measurements off of it. Adjust any measurements that you feel like can be better and use those. Or, go to a department store (or a place like Men's Warehouse) and have them measure you professionally.

Jnicktem, I gotta say, this is definitely one of the coolest looking Raiders jackets I've ever seen! I not only love the new "hero" design but I also am really liking that shrunken lamb! Very cool!
I hope Wested gets some more of this leather in stock soon.

Thank you! I have owned many Raiders jackets- and I feel that this one is the closest to the actual jacket that Harrison Ford wore in the movie. Even though my Nowak Raiders in shrunken lamb is my favourite jacket- my Wested Hero is just right for a SA jacket.

I'm annoyed that I waited too late to get a hero made in the shrunken lamb, it's a dead ringer for the flying wing leather.
Hopefully they get some more in.

Agreed. It is a pretty cool leather and I am glad I jumped on it when it became available! I am just surprised that only a few people managed to get one.

Yeah, they only had a limited amount, and when it was announced they quickly ran out of pieces big enough for the bigger panels.

Dang I got really lucky then. Is there any idea of how many were made?

I sent an email to Wested asking when they expected to get a new shipment of the shrunken lamb in. I am really liking the looks of that leather and I am in need of a new jacket since my old Wested and my G&B no longer fit me. I was thinking about a Wested anyways since I've had good luck with them in the past with two previous jackets and because they are so affordable. (I'd love another G&B, but I don't have $500 bucks to spend) But I would REALLY like a new Wested Hero in this leather. If Wested responds that they don't know when to expect a new shipment of the shrunken lamb, I may just go with the Seal brown lambskin instead, but this shrunken lamb is exactly what I've been looking for in an Indy jacket leather for years. I'd hate to pass it up if new supplies become available soon.

GCR, they have a dark seal - soft, thin cowhide... It's good... Sorry, haven't had a chance for proper pics yet!

GCR, they have a dark seal - soft, thin cowhide... It's good... Sorry, haven't had a chance for proper pics yet! Now THAT is one tempting hide! I can't even believe it's cow! Seems very lamb-like... Is this a new offering or is this currently available from Wested? I don't remember seeing this as an option, but I might have missed it, especially since I tend to gravitate towards lambskin as my first option. This is really a beauty though. I guess my decision just got a whole lot tougher! ;D Thanks for posting this KT! I'll be looking forward to seeing more pics of this one!

Thanks! I think he has enough for a few jackets, so those who ask will get first dibs.
Weather is dark and horrible here, but I'll see If I can get some other pics.

Uh-oh, not much time then...I guess I better make up my mind quick! I went back to the Wested website and I did see an option for "soft seal cowhide" in the dropdown selection for the standard Hero jacket. Is this the same as the hide above, or do I have to special order it? And I have to say, getting home and looking at the picture of that cow hide on a real computer screen (instead of on my smartphone screen at work ;D ) does this leather a LOT more justice. I thought it looked good before, but now... I've ordered the Lambskin Seal Brown too..Should be made and shipped sometime by the end of the week..I'll post pics here if it'll help you decide on the skin you want to try? The lamb looks good, too, and it's the leather choice I've always been partial to. I'll look forward to the pics when yours arrives!

The cowhide does look exceptional actually....
My lambskin just arrived, and I love it, but since I'm getting some new Alden 405's on the 30th, I thought I'd be better off waiting a while and posting pics of the whole kit properly... So I'll get the photos up on the 30th or so!
Regards..

Cheers Fifthchamber! This particular cut works really well and the thinner leather (lamb etc) adds a little something. Look forward to seeing your new baby!

Just placed my order for a Hero in "Seal brown soft Goat" last night (I've had Lamb and cow, thought I'd give goat a try). If it looks half as good as Nick's or KT's jacket, I'll be more than satisfied.
I'll post pics as soon as it arrives.

Since I was caught between the choice for lamb or goat, I'd love to see what I didn't choose! Good call Kwad! Please do post pics when it gets there..
(Gemma said more than enough to make the goat sound great actually..The grain is apparently just a touch more heavy than the lamb, which was so close to the deal breaker for me.. But I've had good results with Wested's lamb, so I stuck with that....This time out...)..
Great choice by the way! The jacket design is the best I've worn in all honesty...Baggy and very cool..Soooo Raiders it's silly...

Ben,
I've always liked the looks of goatskin, but, haven't had a jacket made of it yet. I figured "why not?" I'm sure I'll like it when it gets here.
What's really worrying me is the fit. How much extra room is in the chest area of your jacket over the stated size? Some people have stated as little as 2 inches (i.e., a size 44 jacket with a 46" chest). Others have stated 3 to 3.5 inches, which seems more realistic.
Anyone with a size 42 Hero have the pit-to-pit measurements of their jacket?
