That's cool! A bit like ITG's hat whip. Adam is good at these scaled down whips. I might get one just for the office for when the "juniors" get unruly!

Thanks! Well, the handle is only slightly scaled down... but it makes a difference with this one 5 ft. long. My IOAB is a 10 ft. one, and the handle weighs a bit more on it too. It was nice of him to add the extra touches to it, making it more kid friendly than just a shorter version of the regular ones. Ken

Thanks for the replies everyone! He does like it alot, and was actually getting some cracks with it today. I was teaching the basic techniques, and had him wear his sunglasses, just in case. Tone, I have seen that kid's Indy jacket before, and it's pretty cool. I think they grow too fast to get any real use out of something like that, but I'm sure some people buy them anyway. Dirk, did you shrink your Indy hat or something? I will PM you about it in a bit. Canyon, thanks much as well! I thought it would be a way for him to have fun, since he uses long sticks and things now, as a whip. He could even make an appearance as Short Round, in one of my silly Indy Action videos too. It's also good excercise, which we could probably all use more of. Thanks again, Ken

Wow! Great pics of you guys! He looks as if he is having fun! When I saw that picture of both of you swinging your whips the following came into my mind: Ken: "Those people are trying to kill us." Marcus: "I know dad!" ;D

Thanks much! He likes the Indy movies pretty well.... though, I think he likes them more, now that I have all this gear around. ;D Whips are cool no matter who you are, so I think it's only natural that he wanted to use one at some point. He thinks Short Round is funny too, which... most of us do as well. So, maybe we can make him a Short Round with a whip kind of character in a future video. It's just too hot right now, to do any filming at all. It's 96 here today... and since I'm not getting paid Harrison Ford type money to wear all the crap in the heat... I'm just gonna wait it out. This will give us both a chance to get much better with the whips, for when we get a cool spell. Ken

That sounds original looking at your son wearing as short round! As for not trying to wear the gear in hot days, since you aren't paid as Harrison, sure is fair enough!!

This is so cute! (hmmm.... I never thought I would ever call a whip cute) I just got a whip from my dad too - an anicent stockwhip found on the attic of my parents' farm. I am currently in the process of reviving it with loads of leather grease It is really cool that you son likes Indiana Jones too - it really would be fun seeing him as Short Round Is he into Star Wars as well? /Jakob

I wish my dad had given me a whip when I was 9. Great kid you have, I really like the picture where your both doing the over head crack. He must be the coolest kid on in the hood now.
I have 3 daughters and the middle one (a tomboy) made a crack that sounded like a rifle shot when she was 11. I was proud as can be when she made that 10 footer crack.
cheers Kim

Much appreciation to you fine folks! We just came in from doing some cracking, and he was really getting alot of them tonight! This is only the second time we have had a chance to work with the whips, but I had given him alot of instruction on it, and he has seen me do it alot too. I will take a quick video next time we go out, as he is doing such a nice job now! He does like Star Wars alot as well, and had a bunch of the toys and stuff. There are a couple of Star Wars games and the Indy- Emperor's Tomb game in the mix of 40 X-Box games he has as well. Before you think we broke the bank on those, it has been ove the course of about 3 years... and we buy almost all of them used. Thanks again, Ken

Here is a short video clip I just took, of Marcus using the whip for the third day out: www.kennydrew.com/indy/Jr_Whip.wmvAlso, Dirk.. thank man, but with 40 games now... he has a hard time keeping up with the ones he hasn't played in a while. I do appreciate the offer though. I hope you enjoy the video. I think he's doing very well, considering this is his third day ever using a whip. We have to work on the more traditional method of cracking it, but even with the twist he is using... there are some nice cracks in there now. Thanks, Ken
