Very cool stuff! G-Mann and I were just talking about Spiderman (and other super heroes) last night, as a matter of fact. I liked Spidey alot, growing up... and nothing is ever off topic, or out of line around here! I had heard that they were going to use the black costume in this movie... but, that may happen later on in it as well. They did a great job with the first two, so I have no doubt the quality will continue to be there in this next one. Thanks, Ken

I am most definately a Spidey Fan. And it is not out of line to post about it. Anything goes.
Great pics, thanks. Sandman looks just about perfect. He was allways one of my favorite villians.
Cheers, John

Thanks for posting this topic. I was wandering if anyone else was interested in this. I saw similar photos over at one of the other websites. They had shots of Topher Grace as Eddie Brock aka Venom shooting pictures of Spidey. Someone over at the other site actually got to talk to Raimi between shooting and he told the kid that Venom will indeed be in the film and that Venom's suit will have the big white spider logo and look like the books. The suit Peter is wearing in the film is just a black version of the normal one and then it changes after switching to Brock. I don't know how exactly their going to explain how the "Suit" does what it does because the comic book version came from space during the Secert Wars and it's a living creature. Someone also let it slip there are 4 villians in the film. One and two are Sandman and Venom. Three might be Harry as either the "New"Green Goblin or The Hobgoblin and the fourth is a complete mystery. Kirsten Dunst has also said that she doesn't want to do anymore after this one so they could kill off Mj in this film similar to the way the killed off Gwen in the books. I really don't know how they remove those wires from the final shots for the film. Bryce Dallas Howard is really thin in real life and those clothes with that harness make her look huge! If I read anymore of find any new pics I'll be sure to post them and keep you guys updated too.

I see you are well informed my friend. Thanks Harry. Still no official announcement that Grace is Brock, but the cat is pretty much out of the bag. Mystery Villain #4 candiates. 1. Black Cat 2. Mysterio - (played by Bruce Campbell) 3. The Lizard - Not likely, though I wish 4. Original Green Goblin back from the dead. 5. Doc Ock back from dead

Here's a few more news bits : My friend at work informs me that his son is an extra in Spider-Man 3. He also informs me that they will be shooting his scene on June 9th, 10th, and 11th. He also says that in the scene, Spider-Man is receiving an award from the city of New York. Thought that might be a little interesting and helpful in discovering the sources of Peter Parker's increase in ego.Hey there--I love this site. Been coming here for a few years now. You guys always have the up the minute reports.
Here are a few bits from SP3 from tonight-June 1st. First, rain caused a spidey cam shot to get pushed until, at the earliest, tomorrow night. As of half an hour ago, there were two units shooting-both close by around the same intersection. 1st unit was shooting crowd reaction with two police cars, several officers and FDNY firemen. Sam Raimi and Bill Pope were clearly visible cranking things out. 2nd unit was just shooting static plate shots.
This was the first shot of the night and it was around just after midnight. Again-they will be at this location Pearl/Williams/Pine street through the weekends for night shoots-6pm through 6am.
My only 'juicy' piece of plot involves Sam Raimi's direction where he specifies that the crowd react to a hostage being held by 'someone' in mid-air. This was evident by the direction that the crowd was looking. Spidey is involved here-but Raimi's direction was 'Spidey is hanging by his fingernails and he falls---and makes it'. But they also shot several takes where the crowd reacts to Spidey 'Not making it'.
As for the rest of the weekend--a helicopter shot is scheduled. It will be shooting the action below and not be seen on camera.
Lastly--the shooting location was visible from the Manhattan bridge tonight as they were below the only building downtown whose entire facade was lit up.
Back with more in the following days.

Wow, the new Spiderman movie being made already? Sheesh! Movies get made fast these days! ;D Looks good! I think they actually started work on the real early stuff like the script shortly after they finished Spider-Man 2 so it's not as quick as it seems. Most of the hard work comes after filming. Indy is my favorite movie hero and Spider-Man is my favorite comic book hero with Batman and Superman coming in 2nd and 3rd. Bugs Bunny is my favorite animated character. To be honest there's a little bit of each of these characters that are a part of my personality. ;D

I'm with you there too Pitfalll... I grew up with my heavy phases of Spiderman, Superman, and Batman, as far as comic book characters went. The thousands of times I imagined myself with a hero outfit on, under my clothes, or a secret cave under my house... with the entrance through my closet, saving the girl I had a crush on at whatever time it was... with my powers, or just plain being able to fly! Those were all great things to want to be able to do as kids. When Star Wars came out, I was hooked..... and since I was growing older, it became a cooler thing to be into I guess. Indy was an extention of that to me, since it was Harrison Ford, of course. That ultimately gave me a character I could dress up as now, at 38. The beauty is, now I can relive all my enjoyment of these stories, because they are doing such great jobs on them.... and because I'm past the point of caring whether or not I should really like a fictional hero! Not to throw this thread even farther off course... but, "Superman Returns" looks to be "pretty swell", as Clark Kent would have said. Ken

You know it's funny but other than wearing a Spidey mask and Batman stuff as a small kid I've never really had a big desire to put together an actual outfit like theirs. It wasn't until Indy came along that I really started trying to get everything he wore. That started as a kid and still continues to this day. I don't know what it is about Indy but something happened when I saw Raiders the first time that I instantly bonded with the character. I know this may sound weird but sometimes when I put on the gear I feel like I'm channeling the character and take on a whole other attitude.
As far as the superhero movies go I've been quite impressed with all of the recent films being made by Hollywood. I think someone finally figured out that actually staying close to the source material helps the films and does not harm them.
I really enjoyed the new Batman film and how they did it. I'm amazed at how well Spidey has turned out. I'm still up in the air about Superman Returns. I enjoy Smallville and their take on the origin and that stuff and I'm a little bummed they just didn't wait and use the cast from that show in a film. Seeing though that this Superman film is kind of a sequel to the Reeve movies makes me feel better knowing that they aren't stepping all over what Smallville has done.

Bendingoak, That's very cool about you doing the Spiderman promo stuff, and even more so, that you got to keep the costume! If you wore it now for pictures, you would most likely make little Tobey want to hide in his costume. ;D I like him as an actor, and he's great in the role... but, I always felt Spiderman would have been bigger or more buff, if you will. I guess it's just that he is a small guy that gives off most of the impression, but he should be hitting more weights in my opinion. I'm not gonna cross over into Brokeback Mountain territory here, and suggest that you take a photo of you in the Spidey suit.. but, a shot of the costume itself would be cool enough, if you ever feel like taking one. Thanks for sharing your alter ego with us Ken

Not crossing over into Brokeback territory either - but maybe to the degree of saying it'd be pretty cool to see Bending Oak in some Spidey shots. Bending Oak's definitely got the physique for it. I'm comfortable enough in my manhood (as are all of us here, I'm sure) to know it's okay to compliment someone based on the appreciation of their appearance, aesthetically, and all. There IS a difference! Yet, having said that, there still seems to be the need to put up that disclaimer. ;D ;D Very odd? I'm not huge into comic book superheroes but Spiderman was always one of my favorites back in the day. There used to be a cartoon that came on every morning during pre-school through to 3rd grade, some of you might remember..... "Spider man, Spider man Friendly neighborhood Spiderman; Spins a web - any size; catches thieves - just like flies; Look out! Here comes the Spiderman....." - That one.

They actually played that song at the very end of the first Spidey movie during the credits and it's still my favorite one. Although, the rendition of that same song during the ending credits of the second film was really good to and I'd love to have a copy of it. I think a guy by the name of Micheal Bubble sang it.

There Tobey looks normal but that picture I posted above looks to me like the "Venom Suit" is already starting to effect his health and personality. His hair's a mess and he looks sick.

Hey Oak,
I'll bet you made a great Spidey. Have any pics of you doing that? I'll bet you could twist Tobey into a pretzel. ;D
Cheers, G-MANN

Yes I have a couple of pics somewhere ( I'll dig them out and try to post them). I think Toby is better suited as spidy than I am ( body wise). He looks like your average joe but when he puts on the spidy siut he look fit and lean. I almost didn't make it as spidy ( to big). They were going to put me in the Captain America suit.

Thats awesome Oak! Iwas actually just go ahead and just barge right into Brobeback territory and demand pics. Ha, seriously, if you find some old pics or whatever it would be cool. As for Tobey, definately not my choice, but he's done alright I suppose. 75% of the time thats not even him in the suit. its a stuntman. I've always HATED the choice of Dunst for Mary Jane.
