Is anyone else a fan of the series/movie? I had the pleasure of meeting Alan Tyduk who plays Wash, the pilot of Serenity at the London Comic convention and also attended a talk with Alan and Nathan Fillion who plays Captain Malcom Reynolds (better known as Mal) which was great! A friend leant me Firefly and I recently bought Serenity on DVD, and this is turning out to be one of my favourite franchises.

This show rocks! If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. It is suprisingly fresh, considering most TV sci fi leaves much to be desired. If you'd like an idea about what it's like,...picture Han Solo, BEFORE Star Wars. It's incredibly unique and creative in its storytelling. Sadly, there are only about 14 episodes. 'Blues

I thought it looked cool but I never got the chance to watch it when it aired on FOX. I wanted to see the film at the theater but never got the chance. I need to rent it on DVD and check it out.

Hey Pitfall, if I could make a suggestion, make sure you watch the series BEFORE the film. The series was cancelled a wee bit too soon in it's life, and the film basically ties up all (or most) of the loose ends that you are left hanging with after the last episode. If you watch the fikm first, odds are you will not like it. Trust me, you will love this show. 'Blues

I saw the film first, having no idea about the Firefly series. Loved that film. The atmosphere and the environment are a refreshing break from the techno-easy lifestyle of current sci-fi. I have yet to see the series, but man.....someone didn't advertise the show correctly for it to have gotten cut off at 14 episodes. Serenity hasn't made me a diehard fan, but I have nothing bad to say about the movie. It's a great break! (Then again, I'm a closet Starship Troopers (First movie) fan so I don't know how well my judgement should be taken. )

Lack of money will due that to a person! ;D I think the reason the show didn't make it was because FOX put in on Friday nights! That's almost like the kiss of death to most shows. A lot of people go out on Friday night...to eat and to the movies. I remember them airing Brisco County Jr. and The X-Files on Friday night and it ended up almost killing both shows.....Well, they moved X-Files to Sunday and then the show really took off. They left Brisco to rot on Friday's and it never did recover. Anyway.... I'll try and checkout the series first before I rent the movie. Thanks for the tip Blues.

Harry, the series is out on DVD.
G-Mann, thank goodness I'm not the only one. I used to feel weird saying I liked Starship Troopers - the acting is flat out blah, and the main characters aren't emphatic enough to care about them, yet........it's fun to watch. I think the acting choices are sort of the director's fault more than the actors'. That's besides the point, there's still something fun about the whole movie. I actually hated it and didn't see it for about a year or two after it came out, and then it grew on me. Dina Meyer's shower scene grew on me. Clancy Brown as Sgt. Zimm (sp?) is classic!

'Blues I'm going to have to check this out, as I've been hearing for a while about "some guy who would make a great Indy".

I never saw the second Starship Troopers.....so it really was that bad? I've heard a few of the cast from the first one is supposed to be interested in doing part 3. Of course that still doesn't mean it won't stink.

Of course that still doesn't mean it won't stink. The second one was beyond bad, it went so far past bad it warped time and space flew right past good again and got back to bad. As for part 3 bring back Dina Meyer as Dizzy's long lost twin. Actually she is hot, Dina for Indy 4!

I wish they'd bring back Mystery Science Theater 3000. Man, there are so many movies they could pick on.
