*uses the force* Those aren't the droids you're looking for. If you don't like the series, you will give it to me. You can go about your business. Move along. 'huh, huh, huh, Jedi, Jedi! ha, ha, haaaaaa!!!! Your Jedi mind tricks will not work on me!' "What you think you are some kind of jedi, waving your hand around like that. I'm a dactarian. Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me, only money..."

Is it just me or does Watto remind you of Gonzo from the Muppets?

My brother has been raving about Firefly ever since he saw Serenity. Last week he came over for a visit and brought the DVDs of the series with him. I must say I was blown away - I had to watch episode after episode into the wee hours. It's SO good!! I can't think why such a series would get cancelled - the writing is excellent, the stories, the actors, the characters, the humour, the unobtrusive special effects...and it's really original!!!
Anynone who hasn't seen it yet should rush out and buy the series now, it's money you'll never regret spending!

I think once you survive the pilot episode, you're good to go. It's a bit draggy and I almost dismissed the whole series after watching it. But then I watched episodes 2 and 3 and didn't stop until I finished the entire season!

That's a good heads up, Kalkamel. Episode one would have to get through all the expository of who, what, where, when, and why wouldn't they? Don't want people Earth 2ing the thing and missing out just because Episode one is a bit slow. ;D So keep that in mind when watching it, you all. It's worth getting past the slow points. Heck, just go buy Serenity and watch it as a good sci-fi movie on its own.

Well, I watched the first episode and enjoyed it, I was slightly surprised by the 'western in space' approach but can live with that. The effects are fantastic I think that's one of the most beautiful warp drive effects I've seen in a long time. The take is more Blakes 7 than Star Wars but a nice concept. It doesn't hurt that there are a couple of beautiful ladies in the cast too! How far advanced are the rumours that Morena Baccarin is going to play Wonder Woman? Ah, just found out she's joined the cast of SG1 www.tvsquad.com/2006/06/14/fireflys-morena-baccarin-joins-stargate-sg1

Wash is alive! Photographic evidence of Wash being alive and teaming up with one of the Jones boys! Was I the only one taking photos with actors on LFCC..? Thanks Stefan, not all of us have watched all of Firefly yet!

i got mystery science theatre:the Movie on video when it was on TV, maan that was hilarious, ripping off at This Island Earth and i also believe that Dina Meyer is hot, did you spot her in Friends? I didn't see firefly as it was never shown on British TV, but did see the Serenity film at the cinema... considering it was such a small movie it delivered more than it promised, it tries not too look like it's trying to be star wars but then it goes beyond that! great space battle, plus being politically correct about no sound in space, which is rarely done in other big sci fi. plus it was filmed in the same locations as Army of Darkness, which is another favorite of mine. Mal could almost be Bruce Campbell, and i only knew Nathan as evil eye pokey priest from Buffy 7. and the effects guys were KNB who also did all the creature effects on AoD I met alan aswell at collectormania 8, shortly after chatting with lady Canyon here. i said to him "i hope they do a sequel..." and he replied " NO i hope they do a prequel!" so i said "whys that then?" completely forgetting his argument with a harpoon D'OH plus i love the extras on the DVD, it shows how they made something big with very little money by comparison to other hollywood stuff. "did the primary buffer panel just fly off my goddam ship for no reason?"
