That's pretty awesome IB!!! Have you seen Setzer Tribute Gretsch? www.station-music.de/gitarre/gretsch_setzertribute.html I played one at Guiter Center it was sweet but it didn't sound any different from my BS Model and at $24,000.00 no thank you. I did see the new line of the Chet Atkins Gretsch has reissued. I liked those alot. Anyways, have you been able to put it down yet?

Blooze, I would love to have seen the Stray Cats play, they're one of my al time favorites. If I get tired of it, I'll be sure to ship it right out to you. Ken, I am working on a few ideas, and hopefully I can get some stuff recorded to share with you all. Jorenz, I really want to get s Setzer model some day,..not sure which though. I kind of dig the Hot Rod model, but that's basically a slimmed down, uber tweeked version, right? Kind of a Super Gretsch?? As far as putting it down,....it's very hard to type with one hand, if that's any indication. I love this guitar. 'Blues

Well, I don't play guitar or own one, but I can sing, and even ended up doing some songs at the Indy Summit at Peter Botwright's house this past weekend. Also, someday, I hope to get some songs recorded in a studio.

Man oh man, that is a sweet-looking guitar Mike. I am a huge Brian Setzer fan. Not only can he play like a motherf*cker, but he sings while playing the most ridiculously impossible - and clean - licks. I still have all their vinyl and it was the “Rock This Town” song that got me started on whiskey. (I’ll have a whiskey on the rocks and change of a dollar for the jukebox). Thanks Brian! Setzer came along out of left field when nobody was playing that style. I think I have a few Stray Cats vinyl bootlegs from back then too. I like a lot of their lesser-known songs like Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie and How Long You Wanna Live. Talk about high energy stuff, too. Grab the ‘Rumble in Brixton” DVD if you haven’t already. Great stuff. Congratulations on that guitar. There is something about a hollow-body guitar and a Bigsby that is just really cool. Whenever you start to lose the desire to pick up the guitar, it means you need to buy a new one to rekindle your passion. At least that is what I tell my wife. It is either a new guitar or a new leather jacket. Either way, it is cool. And to tie Brian Setzer to leather jackets, here is a picture of Setzer’s Schott Perfecto – from the same manufacturer and similar in style to the jacket Marlon Brando wore in The Wild One.

:)Thanks Rick! If you get a chance, you need to go try one of these 5120s out. I was amazed at how nice it played, and how well put together it was. Having worked in a guitar store, and basically playing just about every guitar out there, I was skeptical this would be as good a guitar as I was hoping it would be.....it just blew me away. The construction, the finish, the overall set-up. It was like it was made for me. I'm already reading through the Gretsch Forum, and looking into ways to make this one an even better(locking tuners, pinning the bridge, etc.)player. Rock on! Mike

Well, for my part I can sing, tinkle the piano, but this is what I do best: I've had this drum for 3 weeks... my first ever. I've been playing since I was 14 years old, but never owned one to make a long story short I grew up in an apartment (2nd floor) but used to play in school and in a band with my friend who lent me his 'cos he was the singer. Now 23 years later he GAVE this kit to me He wanted to sell it but said that I'd make better use of it. I couldn't believe it! I cried for 5 minutes! Oh, and I live on the 2nd floor too... N

Hey Blues, Are you going to put the dice knobs? I love the Sperzels. They really help with the Bigsby Dive. The pickgaurd looks cool too. Nick, Which Pintech Series are those drums? They look like a lot of fun to play. So here's my latest acquisition. It's a 66 Truetone / Kay Guitar. I love my Green Gretsch but This has some serious mojo when I play live. I'm debating about adding a Bigsby Tremelo I just don't know yet.

Jorenz, that guitar is killer!! Very classy. I will probably put the dice knobs on. They add such a cool look to the guitar. I'm also eyeing up a 6120 on the 'Bay. Must control myself!!! 'Blues

I say hold off on the 6120 and customize the 5120. Unless of course you have the cash then go for it. But I've had more fun customizing than buying. Then again I understand the itch of buying. I'm looking at the gretsch g100 acoustic at the moment. I love the way these guitars look. The sound is really good too. they're no gibson L5 but they're also thousands of dollars cheaper. Have you ever used Gbase before? They have a great search engine for guitars. Check them out. www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/gearsearch.aspx

Cj, I got the mic probably 10 or 15 years ago. It was a pretty popular old school mic for harps. Somewhere there is a web page with all sorts of mods you can do to it.

I recently upgraded from my old Yamaha acoustic guitar to a brand of guitar I've been drooling over since I picked up my first pick: MARTIN. I have always wanted one of these babies and now that I'm actually making money I decided to spoil myself a bit with a Martin DSR. Check her out:

I wondered what kind of a guitar that was in the background of your ABD thread pics. COngrats on a new lid and a new axe.

I recently saw this beauty and fell totally in love with it If I can get the funds together I'll get it. But the prices in Europe for guitars are crazy right now IMO. A guitar costs roughly the same as the Dollar Price as it does in Euros. But I find the buying it from America too risky and pricey.

Well, I have decided to get back into drumming and very recently picked up this set of Sonor drums. It's been a lot of fun so far. Cheers, John

Pat,
It takes tokens but can be changed to take quarters again. Wheel of fortune is a fun slot. Probably my favorite.
Cheers, John
