Whoa! What a beautiful jacket. Just received my Gibson and Barnes Expedition in dark goat skin and it is absolutely amazing. I am one happy dude. Thanks again G-MANN! And, I've got to give it to my sales rep for recommending the correct size (38S). Once the jacket gets broken in, I think the fit will be pretty darn good. Here's a rather poor picture. Please excuse me and my half cut off head, and admire the jacket instead. As you can see, my surroundings are of the kid variety -- not exactly the exotic locales of our hero. I hope to get some better pics soon. While not evident in this pic, the jacket zips up perfectly with just enough room to spare.

Steve, You did get the jacket at the website price didn't you? I know it's not much but for me saving every penny counts. I've always thought the G&B jackets looked fantastic and I've never heard one bad thing said about them. I know their worth every penny but the price was just to high for me at the time and now that they've gone up it's even more unlikely that I'll be owning one anytime soon. Congrats on the jacket and I think it looks great!

Thanks for the kind words PH -- yes, I got the Web price and a lot of the credit goes to G-MANN for that. The price would have ordinarily been out of the ballpark for me as well. I just happened to be able to sell off a few items from another hobby of mine and that helped make it very affordable. Steve

Steve Yeah, I thought about trying to sell some stuff for one of Todd's jackets but I'm not sure yet. I mean I've got a good jacket right now and it's not like I really need it. So I think I'm just going to wait until I find work.......which should be around the year 2050! ;D

Steve,
What size chest measurement do you have that the 38 fits? And if you don't mind, what's the sleeve length from the shoulder seam to the cuff on your jacket? Thanks.

Excellent purchase, Steve. Make sure you post some more pics after you get some wear time. My G&B lamb looked pretty new for awhile, but it breaks in really nicely. Congrats, 'Blues

Steve, I am glad I could help you out. I've had my Lamb G&B for about a year now and couldn't be happier with it. They break in nicely but do take a bit of time. That Goat looks great. Wear it in good Health. Cheers, G-MANN

The jacket looks great but I'm distracted by all those cool toys. Seriously, it looks like a great fit and I love the color. It should only get better with age and wear.

Thanks for the kind words gents! I'm trying to wear the jacket as much as possible to break it in a bit. I've noticed the collar to be particularly stiff. Some of you have remarked on the color, and it is an amazing deep, dark brown -- unlike any other leather I've seen. Of course, I'm not an expert on leather jackets, but still, it's impressive. It's certainly the type of jacket you don't see much around here. I can tell people are trying to figure out what kind of jacket it is. It's funny how people know it's a familiar jacket style, but it has been so many years since the Indiana Jones movies, I'm not sure folks make the connection. Havana, always good to meet a closet Calico Critters fan. ;D My daughter would be proud! Steve

Steve,
When my G&B first arrived I thought they had sent black instead of brown.
I was wondering what your initial thought was when you saw yours.
You almost need to place it next to something black to be sure that it is brown.
Quite different than all the other options avavilable.
Cheers, G-MANN

Hey G-Mann -- yes, I thought it was black at first. My 9-year old son even thought it was black. He does think it's neat that dad has an Indiana Jones jacket.
Anyway, after wearing it A LOT over the last two days, I've certainly noticed the brown hue in the leather under certain light.
I guess some would say it's too dark (my dad didn't recognize it as an Indy jacket because of the color), but I love it.
Steve

I figured I'd just edit this post. I took a couple of days off so I was able to take some additional photos. I would've taken them outside, but we got a foot of snow yesterday and last night. Although, I did shovel with the jacket on : Here's one of the back: Finally, one of the side: Steve

It looks very brown to me, so no worries about the color on my end. I think the shirt works well with it too. So, where are al the pins on the world map behind you? You know, the ones that show all the places you have been in search of fortune and glory? Congrats again on a fine jacket, Ken

Nice jacket - but a couple questions? I've never seen one with the zip on the right. Was this a special request? Also, I have to know - is the zip not pulled all the way down?
Wear it well!

Hi Patterson! Thanks! Yes, that's how the jacket came (with the zipper on the right). It was not a special request. Also, yes, the zip is pullled all the way down. You're much more knowledgable on these things, but I just assumed that's the way it was supposed to be? I guess I need to look at some screen caps... John -- yes, I promise, I'll get some additional pictures posted soon! I'll get one of the back and of the side. I think the delay is a subliminal attempt to hide my face, so I'll try to focus better on the jacket the next time. ;D Also, do you have any tips for working the collar to get it to lay down more? Steve

Steve, Great pics It looks very similar to my Lamb when it was new. That is really strange that the zip is on that side as Patterson pointed out. Mine is on the opposite side. I wonder if that is a new change in the specs. Perhaps too many USA buyers complained so they changed it. Anyways the Jacket looks great. Cheers, G-MANN
