Forgot to post after I saw Dark Knight a few weeks back. The theater crapped out on the sound. It sounded like the surround sound was turning off and on or something similar. Too much bass.........too much treble........back and forth.
Anyway, I always see people blowing the trumpet when someone passes away as their last work being their best.............but Heath Ledger really pulled it off. I think this interpretation of the Joker was spot on, compared to Jack Nicholson's..............but I will lay some blame on the director. I prefer these last movies and character interpretaion to the earlier "cartoonlike" movies.
As far a Heath's replacement? I have to think about that one. I think Johnny Depp is a good actor, but I would prefer not to have Willie Wonka as The Joker!

I bought "the killing joke" a couple weeks ago and wow was that a good read. I also picked up "year one" too and that one was fantastic.

If you haven't read 'Dark Knight Returns' go out and buy it right now! The Batman-Superman crossover is inspired. Arguably, if it wasn't for DNR we would never have had the Burton films nor the current reboot.

Someone told me that they're re-releasing TDK in theaters in January. I would rather have it on DVD and Blu-Ray (that's right, I'm getting both) than see it in the movie house again. EDIT: I found out a couple of weeks ago that they WILL be releasing TDK on DVD and Blu-Ray on Decmeber 9. Yay! -Josh

Will Nolan Return for a Third Batman Movie? www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=50014The Los Angeles Times has posted the first part of its three-part interview with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan in which he briefly addresses what will determine whether he'll be back for a third film:
Well ... let me think how to put this. There are two things to be said. One is the emphasis on story. What’s the story? Is there a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one? That’s the overriding question. On a more superficial level, I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name? [Laughs.] At the same time, in taking on the second one, we had the challenge of trying to make a great second movie, and there haven't been too many of those either. It’s all about the story really. If the story is there, everything is possible. I hope that was a suitably slippery answer. You can read the first part of the interview here: latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/10/christopher-nol.html#moreNow, if only Lucas and Spielberg had been so concerned about a compelling story for Indy 4..... Next Batman Movie in 2011?www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=52278New Jersey's Courier-Post talked to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight executive producer Michael Uslan, who expects the third installment of the Christopher Nolan-directed films, starring Christian Bale, to hit theaters in 2011:
Uslan will be onboard as executive producer for the "Dark Knight" sequel, which he estimates will be theaters by 2011. As for the identity of the next round of Batman's supervillains and love interests, Uslan remains tight-lipped. "It's one of those deals where if I told you, I'd have to kill you," he says with a chuckle.
In related news, while The Dark Knight did not receive the Producer of the Year Award at the Producers Guild of America Awards on Saturday (it went to Slumdog Millionaire), the movie did receive awards at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday - Heath Ledger won for Best Supporting Actor and The Dark Knight also won Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.Ken
