What do you think happened to the Jokers face?? Same ting as before, getting a bullet through his cheeks?? That looks alot scarier than Jack Nicholsons Joker. Looks odd, too. 'Blues

I agree he does look scarier than Nicholson.... A simpler look but more effective.

Yeah, I've been following this for a few days now and the guys over at AICN posted the complete pic before the website revealed it.
I'm still on the fence about this new "look" for the Joker. I need to see more of him and hear his voice before I can say if I'm totally for or against it.
I have a feeling this Joker is going to be a lot more creepier than the one we saw Nicholson play.
For me so far Nicholson's Joker was perfect. Maybe that will change with this new film.

Well, playing himself or not he nailed the way the Joker looks and acts in the books. I've read the comics for years. I think Ledger has got a hard act to follow.
Like I said though I've got to see actual footage of him as the Joker before I can determine if it's something I'm going to agree with.
I loved BB so I have some faith in the cast and director that this one will be just as good or maybe even better.

That must be when the teaser trailer for the movie will be released in the theaters. I'm hearing rumors on the net now that this whole thing is a hoax and that's not the way Heath will look in the film. www.totalfilm.com/movie_news/new_heath_ledger_joker_image_might_be_a_fake! So I don't know what to make of all of this now. You would think the WB would come out and say if it's a fake or not.

Dirk, These two pics are the only real photos besides the possible real "Harvey Dent" website pic that have been released so far of Ledger as the Joker. The other two shots you posted have been proven to be fakes done by a few fans with PS.

Yeah, their pretty good but the one fan PS pic makes Ledger's Joker look like The Crow and the other "test shot" gives Ledger an extra finger on his hand!

Here are a few more Bat items.... The Batpod (Motorcycle) www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-batpod18jun18,1,392372.story?coll=la-headlines-entnews (copy & paste link) Big wheelsYes, it's ridable. You just have to be a little bit crazy and entirely French to do it.
Specifically, you need to be Jean-Pierre Goy, the stunt rider who's spent the last few months jumping Batman's newest batbike at some top-secret location in England to prep for next summer's Bruce Wayne caper, "The Dark Knight," starring Christian Bale as the caped one.
Goy is the only person who's ridden the new Batpod — a bike so outrageous it's hard to believe it was even built. It's not just because it's tricked out with grappling hooks, cannons and machine guns. The front and rear tires are both a monstrously huge 508 millimeters, and the engines are in the hubs of each wheel. Steering isn't by hand but by shoulder, since there aren't handlebars. Instead, there are shields that fit each arm like sleeves and have the ability to rotate around the bike's frame. The two foot pegs are set 3 1/2 feet apart on either side of the tank, which the rider lies on, belly down.
That tank also moves up and down — you know, in case Batman needs to dodge bullets or slide under semis.
And you know he will.
Lucius Fox, gadget guru for Wayne Enterprises' Applied Sciences division (played by Morgan Freeman), is the guy who came up with the idea. At least he is in the movie.
The real man behind the machine is Nathan Crowley, creator of the Batmobile for Warners Bros. 2005 hit, "Batman Begins."
"The way we make films is we build things for real. We try and not rely on visual effects," said Crowley, who, in the end, had the easier job in making the bike come to life.
It was Chris Corbould who had to build the thing.
"I thought there was no chance we'd actually achieve it," Corbould said. "[Director] Chris Nolan and Nathan went for the look of it rather than thinking about the mechanics. That was the biggest challenge: Get their vision, but make it work and perform."
Not just once but several times. There are actually six Batpods, in case one or several are crashed during filming, which is likely.
Corbould wouldn't say what sort of engine was used for the slick gray-and-silver Batpod, just that it's "high performance." Nor would he give its top speed, except to say it's "very fast."
And the cost?
"I can't tell you that," Courbould said, laughing. "I haven't even told the producers."Two new promotional posters: www.ropeofsilicon.com/news.php?id=6423And, other rumors/news... indicating that Anthony Michael Hall will be playing Edward Nigma (The Riddler). Stay tuned for more info.... same Bat time.....same Bat channel.... Ken

From the looks of that tire, it must detach from the Batmobile. Pretty darn cool. 'Blues

I can't really comment on shots like this because your seeing the actor out on a break with the makeup on and you can't really gauge how good it's going to look onscreen. I really wish they'd post an "official" image of him. I'm curious as to how he's really going to look in the film.
I can see the one thing that is different is that he's got longer hair. The Joker has always had short hair in the books.
I have a feeling Ledger's Joker is going to be more like a cross between Jim Carrey and Charles Manson. ;D

I was going to fix the image link above so it would post here properly. But, after seeing the picture, it's too wide for the forum and would blow the space way out.

The Joker has been revealed early.... www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=6554The new Empire magazine cover (January 2008 issue) featuring Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight, that was supposed to debut in full online in 1 day here, has already been leaked and can be viewed below. Warner Bros. will release the Batman Begins follow-up on July 18.Direct photo link: superherohype.com/nextraimages/empirejoker.jpgI really like the dark, realistic look they began with "Batman Begins" (no pun intended), and are obviously continuing with the next movie. This should be a fun ride. Ken
