G-Mann sent me an awesome Indy looking compass right after Christmas. Since my new computer is up and running, I can finally post a photo of it. Thanks greatly for the very cool compass John! Ken

Sweet compass, RB. Very "Spirit of Adventure." I like that color of the casing. GCR, that one you're looking at looks good, too. That bronze type of look goes great for these! Aww man. I have a green one that says "Coleman" on it. Congrats, RB. G-Mann, you've got taste!

Wow, that is cool. Was this something he's owned for a while or was it brand new? I noticed that the link GCR posted has one that's onsale at $50 but it doesn't look exactly like yours. How much did yours cost? I'd like to own something like that myself. I've always thought those type of compasses looked cool. That is a very nice gift. Congrats.

Thanks fellas. GCR, that's a cool one you are looking at as well. The brass really gives it a vintage look to me, even though I have no idea what they used to be made from. Tone, did you say Coleman or Melman? ;D Hey, as long as it gets you back to your truck and home to Mrs. Tone, it's a fine compass in my book. Pitfall, I don't normally ask how much someone paid for a gift they gave me! In this case however, I know that John bought this one off of Ebay, and from his recollection.... it was less than $10. I had been thinking of getting a compass myself for quite a while, but other things all came up first (namely the job thing). I plan to use this whenever we go hiking in all the different parks we visit (there may be one today, depending on the weather). So, this is a cool looking gift that I will use instead of just letting it collect dust in some museum.... uh, I mean... on a shelf in my house. Thanks again John, Ken

Try Ebay Search for Antique Compass. There are several just like this one starting bids at .99 cents plus shipping. Cheers, G-MANN PS: Ken. you are quite welcome. I'm glad you like it
