Yes, another before and after post. This is my S&W model 10-6. The first 2 pics are with a heavy barrel and 60's era factory grips. The second 2 pics are the same gun with the barrel and grips replaced. Looks a little more indy now

thanks for the great comments guys. My gunsmith said that he could put in a lanyard ring and swivel, but the serial number is in the way. This means that he would have to drill the hole off to the side. It just wouldn't look right, so I told him not to do it. I'm thinking about maybe drilling two small holes into both sides of the bottom of the grip and installing something that is in the center but doesn't destroy the serial number, but only covers half of it up. Is that legal?

Ummm...HOLY CRAP! Kap, that is some sweet gunsmithery you have goin' on with that S&W, my friend! Looking at those "after" pics, I never would have guessed that piece started out as a Model 10. Very nice mod job your gunsmith did for you there. It's funny too, since the Model 10, WITH the heavy barrel and stock grips makes for a very good Indy look-a-like as is (and that includes the airsoft revolver some of you guys have that is basically a copy of the Model 10). But you've really taken this thing to a whole new level here. Very cool! P.S. How's it shoot? -GCR

Thanks GCR! I haven't been able to shoot it yet...I just got it back from the smith yesterday, and it looks like I won't get a chance for a while, I have to fly to STL because of a death in the family. But when I return, I'll print out a picture of a Cairo swordsman, squeeze off a couple rounds, and report.

AWWW... I forgot to print up the swordsman! The gun shoots great. The first shot I squeezed out of it hit the target at 25 yards. Nice tight action on it. It's much lighter with the tapered barrel, it stays close by in case I'm robbed, or I encounter Egyptian Nazi stooges. ;D
