Bama, I agree with that. The 1911 works for me. It's a semi-auto that looks close enough. And like you've said, the script mentions it. For pics this one's just fine. \ Something about the Colt not being able to fire blanks as well as the Browning ? ... or some such. I've been in love with the 1911 for like ... ever. I got my first handgun, a Ruger 22 auto, years ago, from a friend of my Dad's, a WW II Vet, who told me there was nothing like the sound of a Govt-issue 45 being 'cocked". He said that sound alone had saved his life on at least one occasion. And then there's always that cool palm to clip loading action ala Magnum PI.

KT, congrats on the Delta. Any pics soon? WinstonWolf, I was checking out that full metal version and honestly, I like the Resin/Metal mix better. Weird, huh? But it seems some of the detail gets lost in the all metal. Reassuring to hear it's sturdy but he's out of the resin/metal kit. Hey, Bama! The 1911 is not only famous for the Magnum P.I. series (with today's spoiled generation of movie execs in charge, with a love of money and a lack of creativity, it's only a matter of time before Magnum P.I., the movie comes out since they grew up on the stuff and have no concept or talent for greenlighting original scripts anymore) but it was also the famous weapon in a show called............. "STREETS OF ACAPULCO!" ;D

"STREETS OF ACAPULCO!" ;D YEAH BABY! ;D and definitately agree on the laziness and shortsightedness of today's filmakers. Thank GOD they haven't been able to make that Six Million Dollar man remake with Jim Carry.

Oh my gosh. Has that really been up for consideration? "The Six Million Dollar Man" remake? It's like nepitism has grabbed hold of Hollywood control today and the kids of all the masters are morons! "What's this Six Million Dollar Man thing? I never saw that either. It's like from the 70s! Wouldn't that make a good movie? Let's go count money!"

GAH!!
"There was this great film back in the 80s.......... Nobody will remember it but it was great!"
"Shouldn't we color it up to give it a different flavor or storyline or something?"
"What?! You're fired, you artless wonder!"
;D ;D

Oh my gosh. Has that really been up for consideration? I did you not. They were planning on doing a send-up similar to the recent Starsky and Hutch "remake", read SPOOF (same director, I believe). It was up on IMDB for a while. Thankfully it has apparently died. There were also talks of a Bionic Woman remake with Jennifer Anniston. I would probably have gone to see that though.

The remake as a spoof thing is wrong. Charlies Angels worked ok but it would be such a same to do that to the Six Million Dollar Man it was better than that.

That's a cool toy! I loved watching Magnum. I thought it was a good show. I always liked that gun he carried. As far as remakes go.......here are the current ones still being considered, brace yourself! Six Million Dollar Man aka The Six Billion Dollar Man.... The A-Team Greatest American Hero Knight Rider Hawai Five-O Magnum......not with Tom S. Latest is either George Clooney, Ben Affleck or Vince Vaughn. Get Smart with Steve Carrell Miami Vice.....comes out the end of the month. I Dream of Jeanie! Can't remember the rest...

I never saw the remake of Dukes of Hazard didn't see the point, Miami Vice just looks dreadful, Pink Panther, Bewitched etc . Actually none of those looks like we need to see a re-invention. Magnum was a big mound of cheese and would probably work as a spoof. But we can all be proved wrong the new version of Battlestar Galactica is just stunning and has far exceeded it's predecessor. Big screen Man from Atlantis anyone .

All those titles, Harry? I'm telling you guys, if you have script ideas, now's the time to get them out there. They're obviously hurting for content! (And if they're not, then someone needs to oust the Rainman from his studio exec position.) "Bewitched. Definitely gotta make that into a movie." "A movie? Of Bewitched, Raymond?" "Yeah." "You sure?" "Yeah, definitely a movie." Now, for Battlestar Galactica.... That's because the new version of Battlestar Galactica was smartly kept as a television series and not made into a movie remake. You've kind of nailed it, KT. They're remaking stuff where the originals still hold up well on their own. That's a cool gun for a toy, by the way. *Though I can't wait for Blade Runner, the series with the Olson Twins as Rick Deckard! It's gonna be awesome! "Blade Runner, the Series, Raymond?" "Yeah" "Who should we use?" .....

Bama Jones, striving to tie every non-Indy post back to Indy since 2006. ;D Dang this threads got more twists and turns for topic-enforcing mods than "Mah boy Luke" gave to them Hounds! ...

Oh, yeah and there's a lot more......I can't remember where I saw the list of them all at though. *IF* done right some of these films could be really good.....like I said though they'd have to be done right. The Fugitive with Harrison was a good film and that was based on a TV show. I'd like to see the Bionic Man brought to the big screen. I loved the show as a kid. What I don't want to see is it turned into a spoof. I think it could make a good serious action film....James Bond meets The Terminator. I have had an idea or two for some exsisting stuff. Heck, I've toyed around with the idea of writing a PITFALL movie. Kind of a modern Indiana Jones. Not sure what his signature weapon would be though.....

Here are my 2 Indy Holsters and close enough Airsoft revolvers. The holster on the left is a WWI Officers Webley. The holster on the right is a Todd's Deluxe. Cheers, G-MANN I don`t want to interrupt anyone here... but how about the specs of the gun with no lanyard ring G-MANN.. that little number intrigues me

The QM doesn't bother me like that since it's a separate entity and I'm not taking it home with me. But antiques with someone else's energy on them; and not knowing who they were or what type of person they were.....freaky. CJ, it's an HFC .38 Special Gas Airsoft Revolver

Hah! Yes, KT. It's a whole different concept. I think. So I was messing around with the .45 today, trying to get it to look a bit more used and less clean, and I think I overdid it. Before: After: ;D ;D We NEVER had SW toys that looked this cool back then! I had to get this. Remember how hokey the first Han Solo blaster was? It made that buzzsaw sound when you pulled the trigger? Yeah....I never had one of those when I was a kid. My friends did though.

Not to go off on another tangent but I still own that original Han Solo blaster plus two of those speeder bike pistols. It's to bad there isn't a way to change the sound chip in those and put in the real movie sounds.

I still have one of those original Han Solo blasters, and a Storm Trooper rifle as well. It has the adjustable shoulder brace on it too. Yeah, I remember that sawing sound too.... very realistic Ken

Yeah, I have to speeder bike pistols that brace yourself sounded worse than the blaster. I sware everytime I pulled the trigger every dog in my neighborhood would howl. ;D I honestly don't know if any of them work anymore but they are in really good shape. The blaster is black and not like the newer orange versions they came out with and the pistols are grey/gray and black.....but the hat was brown! ;D ;D
