Sorry No Indy Material here. But seeing as we have a large amount of leather knowledge here I'd like to ask this question. Whilst I'm conviced that Sheppards jacket on Atlantis is Lamb or goat due to it's smoothness and drape, Rodney's jacket is much more pebbled. From my limited experience I think this looks like cowhide to me, but it seems to drape like a goatskin? Any ideas?

That jacket defintely looks like cowhide to me. The grain gives it away more than anything. Just remember there are many different weights of cowhide. Real motorcycle jackets are usually 3 oz. and quite stiff initially, very close in look and feel to classic horsehide. You can find some 2 oz. & 1.5 oz. cowhide jackets that soft and flexible but just more dense than say lamb or goat of equal thickness. I really like cowhide because it develops a memory in a way that goat or lamb never will. I've had a couple of cowhide motorcycle jackets that actually began to conform to my body after years of wear. The everyday wrinkles and folds start to stay in the jacket over time. It really can become like a second skin.
