Here is the IMDB link containing the rumored information so far. It also links to info about Shia LeBeouf and his acting history for reference: www.imdb.com/title/tt0367882/fullcredits#castFeel free to elaborate, offer an opinion as to the how accurate this rumor is, sing Shia Lebeouf's praises for this opportunity, or just curse out loud with disatisfaction at the very possibility that he is cast, or that Indy might have a son! Of course, this is just for fun. We have no clue hou accurate this rumor is. But, I'm killing a little time while working, so.... Ken

I have a feeling he will be a student of Indy, that will get caught up in the adventure. Wrong place, wrong time, sort of thing. 'Blues

Dang... a student! I didn't even think of that when making the poll. Should I delete one and add it instead of one of the choices? (you can't edit a poll once it's posted). Ken

No, wouldn't student fit under "sidekick" roll?
I have a feeling IF he's in it he's Indy's kid and he'll be a major part of the film.

I THINK, if he's in Indy 4, he'll be playing Indy's son and that will be a major plot point that will smother any other sort Raiders-like coolness that this movie could have. However, I HOPE if he is in Indy 4 (and technically, I HOPE he isn't, but that wasn't the question asked here, so I'll move on) that he is playing the pack mule attendant...a mute pack mule attendant that meets an untimely demise after minimal screen-time. That may sound a bit harsh, but I just don't like this kid...I can't explain why...perhaps it's just my overall hostility to the whole idea of introducing an "Indy" offspring into the mix... -GCR

I'm voting that Indy will use him as a human sheild like Arnold did to that guy on the escalator in Total Recall. That's the best role for him in Indy IV.

;D ;D ;D I love GCR and Havana's ideas for what role he should be playing! Don't hold back guys, tell us what you really feel about it. I think that if he is being cast, it will probably be more of a major part. That tends to be the way my luck runs on these things. I would rather it be more of the foreign spy or pack mule attendant role, but I'm dounting they would give such a part to one of Spielberg's new darlings. Before you know it, he'll have Dalota Fanning in the movie too. Ken

Looking at his resume and the type of role he has played, it is my opinion that he should play an extra in a night-time crowd scene.

I don't have that much of a problem with them introducing Indy's son but I don't see LeBeouf as the type that should be playing his son. He definitely doesn't seem like the action hero type.

Maybe he's the "book-y" type child that takes after his Grandfather. Then again, maybe he'll just turn out to be another pesky little Maharahja-Thugee cult ruler or something. Ken

You forgot the "Flashback Child Indy" option

I hope they don't start the film with another "Young Indy" moment. River was the best at that and he looked like he could kick some butt. Lebeouf doesn't look like he could kick my grandmothers butt.
I think once was enough for the "flashback". If their going to go that route then just cast a better young actor and make a Young Indy movie.

Very true, I agree young Indy has been done to death (there was a whole TV show about him, right? ) BUT if a 5 minute opener starring a young-Indy means there WON'T be an entire movie's worth of a SON of Indy, then I think I'd rather go with the young Indy option. So good call on that one, fedoraman! Then again, I'd still rather see LeBouf as a mute pack mule attendant who gets killed off quickly and humorously...if he even HAS TO be in the movie at all. -GCR

I just want them to go back to the Raiders formula. All Indy all the time. Let the movie start with him getting the Idol back.
