I've wanted a pair of Aldens for ages, but can't really justify the £400 price tag. I'd been scouring ebay for either a used pair in my size or at least a close-enough alternative, but with no success. Then, just before Christmas, whilst shopping with Wife, I stumbled upon what I think are a great pair of Alden-alikes; the Buchanan boot from John Lewis. At less than £100, I bought them straight away and they're seldom off my feet. I thoroughly recommend them    |

Helpful thread, but as usual by the time ive read this thread, the boot is no longer available. Always fighting a losing battle when it comes to Indylike gear.
Same happened when Aldo had a Alden like boot, no longer available when I wanted to get it.

Wested's new Adventure Boots.    Fantastic new Alden alternatives from Wested. Amazing craftsmanship, beautifully made. Really have to be seen to be appreciated. Wore mine for the first time today, very sturdy, bit stiff but not heavy. Need properly breaking in, but aside from a small blister on my right heel, very comfy. The sell for £110, worth every penny. |
