It's probably already been done on these forums before (I'm still kinda new 'round here), but I thought we could all have a fresh thread for sharing what whips we all have in our 'arsenals'. I'll start this one off, with pix I took just tonight... , My Arsenal: The lightest: Dusty Damrel Crease-n-Corral "Raiders" whip / Origin: eBay (US) April 2013 / cost (to me): $155.25 ($10 shipping) The medium (saddle) tan: What I believe to be a Pagey whip, "Raiders" spec; originally much lighter... darkened with a few years use, conditioning and sun / Origin: eBay (France) 2008 (I think...?) / Cost (to me): $250.00 ( shipping) The darkest: Dusty Damrel Crease-n-Corral "Crease-n-Crusader" whip / Origin: eBay (US) April 2013 / cost (to me): $305.00 ($10 shipping) LOVE THEM ALL...

WOW, Jeremy... that is impressive. Of course, it doesn't take long (as a member here) to come across multiple posts of high praise for your work. If I had the budget, I'd Love to add one of yours to my arsenal as well. Perhaps with my pending review at work I'll get the pay-bump that might enable that!!
As it so happens, I believe you did just complete and ship a SWEET 10ft. "Raiders" whip for a friend and fellow Indy costumer/enthusiast in my area by the name of Jeff Hubbard. I've seen pix of that whip on his FB page... another masterpiece.

Yes that's me In light of this thread I decided to do an updated whip collection picture. I have a nylon bullwhip floating around somewhere but couldn't find it. It's in the older picture so it wasn't too big a deal. Added since the last picture are a 4' 12 plait two toned bullwhip, a 7' 16 plait bullwhip, a brand new 6' 12 plait snake whip in natural ( this one is currently for sale ) and a 10' Pagey whip Raiders model ( I've been contemplating selling this one so if anybody is interested, contact me and I may go ahead and sell it to ya ). jmwhips.com/index.php/none/my-whip-collection/collection-as-of-6-15-2013-1-76

Thanks!
So which is your favorite out of your whips? What are the lengths on them also?
My favorite is the 12ft, I dont use it as much as the 7 but when i take it out its a monster to crack.

Gosh, Basil.... that's a damn near impossible question to answer... like asking which is your favorite child! I'm partial to the one (in the shot with the four) in the upper right. I suspect it's a Pagey whip (the lineage uncertain), and my partiality is mostly because it was my first... that and my research into the David Morgan whips leads me to believe that that whip is the actual closest (construction-wise) I have to the screen used ones for "Raiders". The color has much-darkened since I came into ownership of it... as these next, earlier pix show: (By the way... I let go of that JRZJoe whip a looooong time ago... what crap...) Now, that being said, I've absolutely fallen in LOVE with ALL my Dusty/C-n-C whips. The 'Crease and Crusader' is ridiculously beautiful... and comes in at a whopping 11 feet (apparently this may be the first of this model he ever made... indylounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bullwhip&action=display&thread=6430 ) The same can be said of the 'Streets of Cairo' model I've acquired (another 10-footer)... and it is also beautiful. Problem with that one is the previous owner replaced the fall, and it's a bit too thin and a bit dried out, so I can't seem to keep a cracker on it... keeps snapping off... so I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I'd like. The lightest-in-color one (also an early C-n-C "Raiders" whip, also 10-foot) is a joy to crack... easy roll out, and with that famous Dusty construction, pops like a cannon (the neighbors hate me, I think... ) I guess, to be honest... I can't pick a favorite!!! I simply love 'em all!!!

Beautiful whips, all! Interesting to note that Jrzjoe whip MadkidJedi, as I sold that to you some years ago on the SonoftheSuns forum. At the time, I was just getting into collecting gear and didn't know much about quality whip construction. (Jrzjoe makes garbage.) I hope I gave it to you for a fair price. Thankfully, we both know better now! : ) Interestingly we met in person at NYCC in 2011 and I wasn't aware of it until I got home and looked at the pictures again. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2290920027194&set=t.501069801&type=3&theaterYeah... jrzjoe's stuff is just above the lowest end of the hobby, and I wish I could "warn people off" on eBay... <sigh...> Oh, no crap... that was you?!?!? This world just keeps getting smaller, eh? I can't see your pic, though... maybe your album is set to "friends only" or something? You can friend me if you like... I think I'm the only MadKidJedi on Facebook or anywhere for that matter... But more on topic, here are my two whips thus far. My 10 ft. Indy 4 Terry Jacka Bullwhip, and my more recently acquired 8 ft. Indy 4 Terry Jacka Bullwhip. They are both great whips, though the 8 ft has a bit slimmer diameter thong than the 8 ft Indy 4 Jacka whip I sold a few years ago. Plus the color is more like a whisky than saddle tan, and the knots are more of a true saddle tan. I think eventually I'll dye the knots black as every screencap and behind the scenes photo shows black knots on Indy's KOTCS whip. HUGE fan of Terry's work. I would also like to add a 10 ft. Joe Strain Standard Production Indy Whip (Morgan Style) and a 7 ft. Delongis Styled JM Whip to my collection one day soon. Cracking is one of my favorite hobbies! A VERY NICE collection yourself..!! That's how it starts... with just a couple... I enjoy good crack now and again, myself . And crackin' is fun, too... (ha ha!!) got a great backyard for it here.

Lots of nice whips in this thread! Madkidjedi, I can confirm that this is one of my whips - but it was made in natural tan, not saddle tan. Glad you are enjoying it!

Thank you! I love seeing what kinds of pieces everyone has in their collections. The Pagey whips look so much like Morgan's. I'm really digging the Crease-n-Coral whips too. Madkidjedi, I tried searching for you on FB but couldn't find you. Here's the picture I was trying to link to you: I'm looking forward to seeing what whips everyone else has in their collections.

So nice to have clarification on something I've wondered about for years..!!! Ah, yes... natural tan... I still don't know all the lingo, apparently... And yes... I enjoy it, all the time. Whips like these NEED to be cracked.... (neighbors be damned). Still a fave, even with the new 'blood' in the collection. And the work is just amazing. Everything about it just screams "Raiders" to me... especially that awesome, chunky turkshead knot. This very whip was used prominently in the Indy fan-film we shot here in Rochester... I was on the cast and provided quite a few props. vimeo.com/16909917Thank you! I love seeing what kinds of pieces everyone has in their collections. The Pagey whips look so much like Morgan's. Here's a link (I think) right to me... www.facebook.com/MadKidJedi...and yeah... let's see those whips, gang!! (These boards are a bit too quiet for my liking of late...!!)

Great to remake your's as well!
I wholeheartedly agree that whips need to be used! Not only is it fun, but it's the best way to keep them in good working order.
Who else has pics to share?
