Hey, gang; I've been wanting to share pictures of my "super-close-enough" boots, which I got about a year and a half ago at Old Navy on clearance... My cost, only $30. The more I look at them, the more I think they are a great Indy-boot substitute. Possessing many of the key attributes of the Aldens, they are a darn good color for an adventure boot, and are remarkably comfortable. They also came with 2 sets of laces: these leatherette ones and some more standard nylon work-boot laces. In fact, I think they're so close, I've stopped my search for something 'better'... at least for now... What do you guys think? Oh... and how do I distress vinyl??

I actually walked around Manhattan one of the first times I wore 'em... No pain, no problem!! Heel... what heel?!?!? Worst drawback of the boots. Think maybe I can carve out a space in the sole and create a 'faux-heel'... Thinking maybe someday I'll get the Todd's... not in that big a hurry.

yes faux heel that's a possibility, if faux buttons are doable, then never discount a faux heel ha ha.
But yes, wear those boots to death, and whenever your ready, Todds will always have a pair ready for you.

Getting them repaired, but I still want to replace them and so I check in every now and again and have been for the last year and I never see them available in my size. Very frustrating.
