Its fast becoming winter, and for those who would like to still don the leather jacket and shirt in this cold weather becomes a little hard as its not quite practical and warm enough.
What kind of jumper would Indy wear you think and what colour? Ive got an idea but would like suggestions.....on this hypothetical question. Thanks.

Brown Cardigan, a la Mystery of the Blues. Steven Is that a shawl collar? But thats not the jumper what i was thinking I was thinking more along the lines of a military type sweater like a blue royal navy jumper with patches on elbows and shoulders. But maybe your right?  |

I think if you ask what kind of jumper would Indy wear? And then someone posts a photo of Indy wearing a jumper, it's fairly straight forward to accept that that's probably the type of jumper Indy would choose to wear....At least in later life...
I can't see him going blue, since blue matches with the rest of his adventure kit badly...Browns, reds, khakis, whites, blacks? Sure...But blue would be a large break...
Either way, we have a photo of what he chose to wear in the Winter, and that's probably good enough for most...Although perhaps a jumper like the one you mention, in the colours above would work ok?

But maybe your right? Yes, indeed, it is a shawl collar. Magnoli actually made a replica of this sweater, although it doesn't seem to be listed on their site anymore. Fifth is right about the blue, though. Perhaps a white military sweater would work, like the one Katanga wears. Or Modern John Watson. Steven |

Great answers. Yes maybe they do a brownish earthy type jumper, im sure the british military wore brown jumpers similar to the royal navy blue one.
But i never saw Harrison wear that shawl collar jumper so it does answer my question you are right thanks for pic. I just need to go look for a brown military type jumper now, or white as you can get too much brown. Thanks.

Alright, last night my siblings and I took some pictures of our costumes before we went to Trunk-and-Treat. While I didn't wear a sweater to the event, this thread had gotten me curious about how Indy would look in a white cream sweater like Watson's. So while we were taking pictures before the event, I had a few pictures taken of myself in John Watson's famed jumper.  Over the Satchel in Direct Light  Over the Satchel in Indirect Light  Under the Satchel in Indirect Light  Under the Satchel in Direct Light I don't plan on wearing it again, but I like the way these photos have turned out. Nice pics, now i understand the white sweater idea, although im not familiar with John watson or the mystery of the blues with Harrison ford with his brown cardy and beard.
But have you got a brown cardy like Indy, or has seeing him wear one give you ideas about what youd wear in colder weather? IM glad you like that brown cardy i linked, although not exaxtly the same as Harrisons, it has the spirit i think and the collars are a bit tamer which i prefer.

There's an episode of Young Indiana Jones called Mystery of the Blues. Harrison Ford starred in the bookends of that episode. You can watch them here.As for Watson...  WATCH BBC SHERLOCK!!! (Try it from your library or Netflix) Nope. It'd be cool to replicate, although being in Arizona, it doesn't really get cold enough often enough to wear anything more than a jacket. Steven |

The wool jumpers are popular back in the UK in the colder seasons..Very warm....Lovely things to wear, although a little itchy...
I think the shawl neck you posted looked fine...The hard thing is to get the colour right...But that can be ignored if you aim more for "Indy like"..It's not a huge issue..I have two currently, one brown/yellower and the other more dark stone...The stone one is my favourite because I think it compliments the jacket and hat best....
Personally, I wouldn't go full white with the jacket, but it's not a huge jump to imagine Jones in a woolen jumper either..Makes sense....

Both of mine are wool, and yes, both shawl collared 5 button, low collared jumpers...
They're relatively easy to find, although outside of the Indy gear, I'd not choose to wear them..They feel too "old" to me...
Uniqlo in Japan sold the ones I have...But Gap or a similar place in the US should carry several choices very similar in style and colour...I suspect.

Still...Not a bad top...And as for acrylic against wool, well, acrylics are cheaper, and less irritable to a degree, wool is warmer, but that's about it....I wouldn't aim too much at the correct fabric, just the shape of the shawl neck jumper..

This is the one I found at Uniqlo.... Although the colours are still too dark, this kind of dark mud brown suited the jacket rather well..So I think it works ok... As you say, Indy was indeed "Army"..However, the clothes he chose stayed clear of green...The army he fought in (Pacific war and Europe) show more tendencies to stay khaki and brown in the main, with the exception of BDU's and uniform jackets of the time....So Indy stayed with that...More Army Air Force than modern Army...Essentially...Hence why I suspect he'd not have used greens....I think the colour combo is too directly "Army" to work clear of that image...But, it's our choice entirely, so more than valid as that!
Indy may well have liked the top you show, but he used something else, in different colours..That's all...No need to take my advice on this at all..It's not my Indy gear! Heh...
Entirely your call mate......Just, you'd asked for advice about what Indy would wear..So..That's it.

Thanks for the link on the uniqlo i bought it today the brown cardy. It is very nice and nicer than my matalan one. The colour is more subtle and blends with the jacket very nicely and not too much contrast. I took the matalan one back to the store and got a refund.
I will try upload a pic if i can. I also bought a beige wool british army jumper v neck so i can wear the shirt underneath and have the collars of the shirt show, which a crew neck wouldnt show.

I happen to agree with you on the Uniqlo one...Cheap enough to be fine, and yeah, I agree, it suits the brown of the jacket and hat rather well....With a slightly more earthy brown scarf I have the suspicion the balance would work exceptionally well....
Either way, it's cheap enough to not worry too much about it...And warm too...Plus the right "styling"...So you can't go wrong with it I think...

You did well to find it. I might have to buy another and may do in the sales though. I also went to gap, didnt find anything there, dissapointing selection in fact.
Yes i may have to get the scarf as well, its never ending. But i do have a grey scarf which might have to do.
