If one wanted a LC jacket, which jacket would everyone suggest? and which leather and maker?

In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with a Wested jacket, lambskin. They are relatively inexpensive (compared to a US Wings, for instance). If you want the premium custom jacket, it doesn't get better than a Nowak. I understand since Tony's passing, his stepson has taken over, and he does excellent work. I am not fortunate enough to own a Tony Nowak, but several Indy Lounge members do. I only own two jackets: an OTR Raiders in lamb and a pre-owned Last Crusade in goat. They are both excellent jackets. The only thing I wish I could do is switch the styles or switch the materials (both of which are impossible) because the LC jacket has a better color and texture to Raiders, and vice versa.  Anyway, I might not be of much help. Hopefully someone else will weigh in, and you can make a more informed decision. -Josh |

I've owned (and recently sold) a Wested LC/ Crystal Skull Jacket and it was a great piece of gear, though it was closer in style to the Crystal Skull Jacket than the LC.
I currently own a Raiders U.S. Wings Jacket and I actually like the weight and fit of it better than my Wested. The back panel below the yoke tends to be more narrow on their jackets as their pattern differs from other Indy Jacket makers. According to their website, this is screen accurate. It took me a bit by surprise as well, but the look has grown on me. In fact one of the reasons I sold my Wested was that even though it was custom made to my measurements, the U.S. Wings Jacket actually fit me better and it was an "off the rack" size, no customization done to it.
But I'd say that either of those vendors will supply you with a high quality product no matter which you choose.
