Well, It's been a while since, and I want to upgrade some parts of my gear. What doesn't need to be upgraded: My Wested Raiders Jacket, Todds Holster, web belt my Akubra Federation, Whip (and whip holder). What needs to be upgraded: Shirt (Cabelas), pants, MK VII bag and strap, and possibly my gunbelt. The problem I have with my Todd gunbelt is that the stupid thing that the (I believe it's called) belt loop keep getting away while wearing the belt, and I can't find it! I'm also considering buying an AB. If somebody has some good advice on where I can find some "upgrades" to my gear, please, post /Railok

I'd love to give you advice on any gear purchase (God knows I have made mistakes in the past and could have used better gear advice myself)...but it would be meaningless unless you gave us some idea of what price range you want to stay in.

No fantasy prices now.. ;D I can stay between, let's say, up to 300 dollars. So, I don't think it would be so much of a problem really.

Boy, Railok if you can afford it I'd either go for an AB Indy shirt or one from Wested.
As far as the gun belt goes I ended up buying a brown work belt without the buckle and transferring my buckle hardware from Todd's belt to that one and it only cost me about $14.......
What kind of bag do you own? The bag I bought is now no longer available and I bought Todd's deluxe strap a long time ago. I would look at getting one of the new or repo bags from the WPG website. They look great and aren't that expensive.
As far as the AB goes.......I'd say go for an ABD but if that's out of your price range then I'd say wait a few more months and hopefully Marc and Steve will have a factory AB ready for all of us to buy. I'm *hoping* they can make that happen.
I don't blame you at all for not wanting that Cabela's shirt. It's a nice shirt but it's really not the best "close-enough" Indy shirt out there......I think I've worn mine once. ;D

I got the repro bag from WPG, It's a good bag, I'm just curious about the strap. If I need a better one, that is.
Factory AB? Cool! What price will that be?

You can do much better even with just found bits. I put together a reasonable Indy 4 style strap or about £6. Push that to About £8 if you get a AB buckle.

Todd's strap is good but considering your on the other side of the ocean it's probably more "cost effective" to do what KT suggested. If I knew what I was looking for exactly I would have pieced together a strap myself. As far as the Factory AB goes I believe Marc and Steve are shooting for around $175. It's still to early to know for sure though considering prodcution costs and the material. I'm guessing the price will end up a little higher than the Fed. Deluxes but you'll also be getting a hat of equal or higher quality as well. You know Marc or Steve won't settle for something on the level of a Dorfman.

Just a quick question, is Steve still selling his AB's for 250? And will the factory AB's be less of quality from the "original" AB?

Yes, for the moment......I don't believe the price will increase until after the Indy 4 opens. The same goes for Marc's hats as well. So I'd order one now if you really want one. I'm not sure what type of felt their going to be using IF the factory project get's off the ground. I'm assuming it will be a rabbit blend of some kind. I just don't know. Now it's not going to be as good as the beaver felt both offer but it should be along the same lines as the Akubra felt if not better. I know they've talked about offering them styled and open crowned as well. It's still very early to know what the final details will be. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it all happens. By the way. You should check out Magnoli's website for a bag strap and a bag. I just read he's getting in a new shippment soon and he's improved the quality of the bags. The price isn't bad either.

Just a quick question, is Steve still selling his AB's for 250? And will the factory AB's be less of quality from the "original" AB? The original ABs are hand made while the factory made ones will be machine made, of course. This changes the cost factor and I'm sure some of the materials used in making the hat. Even if all the materials were the same, the ability to mass produce them by machine would lower the cost enough to make them cheaper to sell. Only Steve or Marc would be able to tell you what changes there will be in the machine made vs. hand made models. Ken

Well, I'll be thinking and plan up the costs, so I'll probably get myself an AB at the beginning of next year.
