Terrific hat Gailen , what a beautiful rich color . John certainly knows what he is doing . Mine is in the works . By the way , do you wear it in the pursuit of knowledge ?

Gailen , With all those beautiful books behind you there , would any of them be archaeological journals ? Some years ago I was heading north on I-5 through Oregon on a motorcycle . It was raining so hard that I inadvertently got on to an off ramp and got lost somewhere in the middle of Portland .

No, they are actually books on Military Antiques which is my occupation, a Military Antiqus Dealer. Gailen

I have always wanted an authentic xiphos or a gladius . Are there any in existence outside of museums ? If there were , I expect I'd have to discover the Inca lost city of gold before I could afford one . What about functional knock offs ? Forgive me , I seem to be getting a little off topic here .

To answer your question, I don't deal in items of that era. Strickly 1850's through 1945. I wouldn't know one of those swords you mention if I tripped over it. Gailen

Thanks Gailen ...... I'm just a curious old fart who likes to read a lot . Couldn't help but notice those bookshelves full of books . Military antiques , a noble pursuit to be sure . A friend in France has unearthed with the help of his metal detector , some weapons from the Roman period , and also some items from the Napoleonic period . Are you in to uniforms as well ? Really interesting stuff ........... Gary
