Sorry, G-Mann. The label isn't actually holding them up. The latest update is that since it's fall, the factory is swamped with jacket production orders and my little prototype is at the back of the line. We are awaiting a final production sample with the collar mods I requested. The actual production will be done in a flash. Don't worry, I will make it up to you somehow...I appreciate your patience and being willing to be the "first in line". BTW, here is the label design. I decided I had to go with something legit (no too fanciful that might be considered deceptive) but something that looked vintage. What do you think? www.toddscostumes.com/images/indy/indiana jones jacket/TClabel3color.jpg[/img]

That was a little vague. IS Magnoli going to start offering an "Indy jacket" as well?

That was a little vague. IS Magnoli going to start offering an "Indy jacket" as well? I'm reading beween the lines but I'd be willing to put money on it. And selling at $175- $195.

Well, the new jacket label looks good, and hopefully John will be able to show us the first jacket soon! As far as Magnoli goes..... let's see how much trouble is stirred up when an admin at COW does (yet again) what Todd is being accused of doing. I'll just bet it flies smooth as a breeze, which ought to show you the hypocrisy involved in this whole..... "Attack Todd for things that have been going on for years" thing. Ken

This is interesting. Now if Peter is upset about others, such as U.S. Wings, G & B and Todd making Indy jackets and selling them at the same or a higher price than his. How will he react to Magnoli breaking into the market and selling his jacket for much less?
That would be an interesting thread to follow as it progresses.
Cheers, G-MANN

Todd, Thanks for the update. Was I actually the first one to place an order? No need to make anything up to me either, I'm fine with everything. If you want to do me a favor, just ship mine first Cheers, G-MANN

Well, whatever happens I'm staying out of it. I'll watch from the sidelines. I've had enough "controversy" on these boards to last me a lifetime. ;D
People are going to "vote" with their wallets anyway. If these other jackets turn out to be just as good or better than the Wested than so be it. If they don't then they probably won't be around for very long.
The one thing that Magnoli said in that link that kind of has me scratching my head is the comment about his "jackets" being just as good as something you'd by in a major department store. That doesn't give me much confidence. I've seen quite a few leather jackets in those stores around that price range that aren't very nice at all......infact the leather looks cheap. I'm hoping Magnoli was meaning the higher end jackets some stores sell.
The guy has produced some fantastic replicas so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now until I see what he has to offer.

Yeah... I agree. What exactly was that supposed to mean? Do you just not like the idea of yet another company making Indy jackets? And if so, how does that connect me? The last I checked, I wasn't scheduled to receive any money from the sale of Todd's jacket, Wested, Flightsuits Expedition, U.S. Wings, Flightjacket, San Diego Leather Co., or a few others already selling. I support anyone trying to improve a product, offer their version of it, or even just lower the price. I have two Westeds myself, but that doesn't mean that I blindly support Peter. I am openly interested in seeing all the available jacket options, and judging them based on their quality alone.... not rumors. I have no plans whatsoever to buy another Indy jacket. But, if I ever change my mind.... I like having multiple options and the ability to pick the best jacket that fits my needs. Right now, that jacket would be an Expedition.... but, if Todd's turns out as we hope, I would certainly consider it instead. Oh... and I'm already happily married, thank you. Ken

G-Mann, good news! The final (I hope) prototype is done and will be here Monday or Tuesday. If everything is a "go", the production will be finished in two weeks.
My little project hit a few snags. First, being fall and heavy jacket production season, my project got overlooked for a long time. Second, the tannery messed up the leather, and had to do it over again. And thirdly, a monsoon shut down the tannery for a while. No kidding. But we're moving again and I'm still confident that it will be great.
Thanks for hanging it there! You were, indeed, the first order and yours will be the first to ship.
As for the S&W, it's on the back burner. Not dead, but it is hard to turn out a high quality replica like that for a reasonable cost. As soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll move ahead. I'm thinking of zinc casting...

Great news Todd! I was talking to G-Mann today about the jacket, as a matter of fact. I'm still looking forward to seeing how nice it turned out, and am sorry you have had the delays and snags along the way. Hey, good things sometimes require hard work, don't they? Ken

Are there any new shots of the jacket that folks can see while we wait for G-Mann to get his?

y'know.. again./. not to keep drifting.. but todd... if you were to further pursue the indy gun market... could/would you look into somehow doing a cap firing version( not Blanks!).. THAT would be ultimate.... as it could be used a bit more freely in Fanfilms.. and probably easier to carry, and more satisfying than jsut a replica...just wonderin...

G-Mann, the FINAL (I hope) sample is on its way to me. I should have it tomorrow. At that time I should be able to take comprehensive photos. If it is approved, I should have the order within two weeks.
Light at the end of the tunnel.

The final sample arrived a few days ago and I am going to take pictures today. The order has been approved and might be shipped as early as next week. I'll post pictures later today, if all goes well.
