But me and my Penman just had a bit of an acting role... A mate here in Tokyo is a small time movie maker...Mostly just random fun and off the wall weirdness...And since he and I work for the same company and complain about it a lot, I was lucky enough to be asked to come along and join in this time out.... It's not much of a role, but the Penman I have took the limelight, and that's what I want to show to you lot here!! I had these photos taken by a mate and although the focus and angles aren't spot on, he DID managed to highlight the hats rim so well I LOVE the first photo... The second one should give you an idea about what a random film it will turn out to be..No speaking..Just music I think is the plan? I played an arms dealer..Since I have a lot of weapons here...Not a psycho..Just...."Cautious"....Kinda... Regards!

I think Jim's plan (the Director) is to put it out on Youtube when he's done...Yeah..His films are always rather odd...He has several already, short films usually based around his "Horror High School" event ideas...Check "comoyoko" on Youtube to see what I mean?
He's a good bloke, and has some interesting ideas and this was just fun to do....We'd filmed a couple of scenes at my house a week prior, and the bar shots were more on that storyline..So while I'm still not sure what the story actually is..You can be pretty sure it'll be random and fun to watch...Like silent Monty Python mixed with some goth and Japanese horror ideas...Basically?
I'll keep you posted!

Nah, I can't act....It's a small problem in modern Hollywood, but a big enough one to prevent my trying...Heh...
And yeah, my friend Sam's brother, David Oyelowo was in Red Tails recently, and has done a load of theatre and TV work in the UK...Rise of the Planet of the Apes too...He loves it...But you actually need TALENT...And I don't have that..So..Just photos suits me fine...
Although, having said that, becoming a TV star in Japan is rather easy, as long as you're willing to sell your soul...And put up with the shame of looking like a joke for the rest of your life...
I'm not in THAT bad a situation just yet...LOL

I really enjoyed "Apes" and he was great in it. He played a character with no real redeeming values. And did it well. ;D I still need to see "Red Tails." Although, having said that, becoming a TV star in Japan is rather easy, as long as you're willing to sell your soul...And put up with the shame of looking like a joke for the rest of your life... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Ever seen the Robot Chicken episode with the Japanese game show, "You Want Million Dollar?!?!"? ;D -Josh

Josh....LOL...Yeah....Sad thing is, it's NOT JUST Robot Chicken....LOL...The gaijin TV "stars" here are generally used to laugh at and "marvel at their wonderful and almost fluent use of Japanese!!" (TM)....
I'm not saying it's like being black in the 1920's on TV, but it is.....
And yeah! I liked the role in Apes..David was great in Spooks too if you get a chance to see it...He's a good, solid actor... Sam, his brother is a great artist, and a real close mate of mine...Both good blokes..

madness usually leads to greatness, your friend has quite a knack for the abstract which is always good for an artist. oh! and very nice pictures! haha the first one is definitely a keeper!

Yep...Jim is rather "abstract"...But it's good fun being asked to do something to add to the madness....I was rather proud to be asked actually... ;-)
Dunno if it'll lead to anywhere near greatness, but he deserves a lot better than he's currently getting... So I'm hoping!
And yeah! I rather liked that photo myself....The focus is on the hat, which I like more than seeing myself in shot...And I DO love that hat....
Thanks mate!

I have a rather good idea actually...But the storyline doesn't (need to) make much sense...Jim's vision is about all that is important for the film..If you look at some of the other stuff he's done you'll see what I mean..It's not really a "film", more "craziness from Jim"..Decent fun, but not especially easy to tell anyone who doesn't know Jim...LOL
I loved it...And I also wouldn't call it a "film"...Just "stuff" Jim wants to make...But "film" works best for explanations here...Essentially...

(If I said "I understand the story" then people would ask me what the story is, and since it's a little more..."Dreamlike", it's hard to make THAT make sense to people unrelated with the project or the director of it...Essentially)..

Ben Looks like fun I checked out your buddies other stuff. Random is the right word, but, I like it. The earthquake drill video cracked me up. Something very Monty Python's about it. "They didn't even give me a helmet..." ;D

Actually...THOSE videos are SERIOUS....Which is kinda the problem...LOL..Both he and I have experienced the same kind of crazy arsed antics because we're foreigners living in Japan, and while I know it looks crazy, and it IS, it's also a rather big issue we have here..LOL
His "proper" film stuff is very random..And yeah, I think he draws a lot from the Monty Python kind of humour ideas too...I can see that...Life here in Japan really IS rather crazy though..
Worryingly so at times...LOL...Jim's videos show experiences that are far from unusual here...Trust me, Japan is a crazy country to live in..Heh...
I'm glad you liked them! I'll let Jim know!
