Those aren't bad at all. I guess my only gripe with them would be the back heel is a little to high for my taste. I love Skechers boots and shoes though. They're very comfortable. I'd like to get another pair of the ones I own. I'm kind of really distressing the ones I own. ;D Nice find and welcome to the board.

Definitely not a bad choice if you're after the Indy look but with a tread that can handle rough terrain. That's my one complaint with most Indy style boots, the minimal (or in the case of Aldens, complete lack of a) tread. I know PH has some sketchers with a decent tread that still look good a Indy boots, too. Anyways, thanks for sharing the find and welcome to the lounge! -GCR

I think the treads on my boots are a little more square and not as long. The really don't have that much of a heal either. I know mine weren't really made for hiking. I believe they're more of a work boot. I'm still watching these boots. www.jcrew.com/catalog/product.jhtml?id=prod88346291&catId=cat220086I'm thinking about getting a pair once they drop in price. The problem is I've got to catch the sale at the right moment or they won't have my boot size. It's happened in the past.

Yeah, I love those J. Crew boots. Just too expensive for my budget. I've already got family members complaining about how much money I'm spending. But hey, for a kick-ass Indy outfit... why not? Plus there's a comic/toy/collectible convention in Knoxville, TN (close to where I live) called AdventureCon. The last two years they've had a costume contest. This year I was Marty McFly from Back to the Future and no one knew who I was. But with a fairly accurate Indy costume, I'm bound to get at least second place. Glad to be a part of the Indy Lounge.

Yeah, those J. Crew boots look pretty good, but that price is ridiculous. Better off saving up the extra 90+ bucks and going for the Aldens. You've got the right idea waiting for a sale on those babies, PH. Considering how much thought and effort a lot of us put into our Indy gear collections, it'd be a travesty NOT to win at least second place in a costume contest. ;D Good luck in your gear / costume quest, mrfusion! -GCR

Well, I know Indakin enterted that one contest where he was at on Halloween and he won some money but he didn't get top prize. His gear looked really good to. Of course that wasn't at a convention I don't think. I'd say 95% of this whole thing is attitude. You don't have to have the most accurate thing in order to give off what we like to call the "Indy spirit". Don't break yourself money wise trying to get the best of everything unless you've got the cash. There's a lot of info here on all of the gear including some links and ideas for "close-enough" stuff that look just as good that won't break you and you won't feel guilty about distressing. I'd like to get a "real" Indy shirt someday but there's no way I could mess up a shirt like that at the price you pay for them. A $6 shirt on the other hand I have no problem rolling around in the dirt with. ;D I'd like to see your Marty McFly costume if you took any pics in it. I loved that movie.

Well, here's a picture of my McFly costume about 2 years ago. I don't have a picture of the most recent addition: a genuine calculator watch! ;D C:\Documents and Settings\Keith\My Documents\My Pictures\JMK as Marty McFly.jpg[/img] Let me know if that picture appears. I'm not good at attaching photos on forums. But, if you have a Myspace, like PH, my user name is Josh (aka JoshKnight). There are pictures of me as Ozzy Osbourne, M. McFly, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker (both from Empire), James Bond, and finally, a few pictures of my in progress Indy costume. There are also pictures of my custom 1/6 scale action figures that I make with my brother. If the picture doesn't show up, I'll try posting it on ImageShack.
