I just got this back from the collector I sold it to in 1990. By todays standards it's pretty bad. But back in 1982 when I purchased it this was about as good a whip as you could buy in the USA. It's a 12 foot Bucheimer with swivel Handle. If guys like David Morgan were making whips we couldn't find them. Over the past 30 years it has turned a beautiful dark brown color. Nice to have it back to hang on my wall. Attachments:

That still beats the ones I had when I was a kid.

I remember the price when I bought this whip. I believe It was $265.00 new. That was alot of money at that time. Paid a guy who worked with a rodeo $5 a lesson to teach me how use it.

I also forgot to mention that in 1982 I was 40 years old. The same age as Harrison when he made Raiders.

Gailen That explains why you were able to cough up $265 for a whip! ;D Seriously though, that is one nice looking whip, I especially like the dark color. It's great to be able to hang on to (or in this case reacquire) old gear. I'm sure it must bring back some great memories. I still have my first whip, though its nowhere near as nice as this.

By todays standards it's pretty bad. Not at all! Nothing wrong with owning a Bucheimer! I like to think that if Indy was a real person, he'd be swinging from a Bucheimer. That's a beautiful whip and appears to be in good condition for its age. Thanks for sharing!

Your probably right. His choices in whips would have been limited. It is a pretty whip.
