Hey guys, I just picked these up at Target today. They have Khaki and dark brown. I bought both colors, I'm going to attempt to dye the khaki colored ones, I'm not sure what color dye I'm going to need though. I guess Ill have to experiment. Any Rit Dye experts around that could suggest a dye color? In the above pic, that dark tag on the waist line is just a piece of card board that says Merona, I just forgot to take it off. Sincerely, Prof.Wex

It's always great to find close-enough gear/clothing items, IMO. Here is the Rit color chart for reference: www.ritdye.com/Color+Chart.4.lassoOf course this will vary with the actual colors and artistic eye, but I'm guessing that maybe a combination of Taupe, Cocoa Brown, with a tiny hint of Scarlet thrown into the mix might do nicely. My thoughts are that 1 bag of Taupe, 1 bag of Cocoa Brown, and maybe 1/8th of a bag of Scarlet might work well on this color. Since you are starting with khaki and not white, you will have a good base for the color already. So leaving the pants in for less than a minute might do the trick. They will look MUCH darker when they come out of the dye than they will after they are washed, so don't think you just ruined things. I have a plastic storage tub that I use to mix the dye, some salt, and hottest water possible in. I put it in the tub and fill it right from the faucet. This also gives me a safe place to pour out the bin and rinse everything well. I know you may already know this Profwex, but I'm adding my experiences here for the sake of those who may not. I also wear rubber gloves to keep my hands and arms screen accurate for a human. You may see another color mix that works better for you, but hopefully this will help get the ideas rolling. Ken

I have a pair of those myself. They're great pants. They already have that worn in look, but the color is a bit mustard-ish. I'd be interested in seeing how the dying turns out.

The Target in my area had them in an almost perfect Taupe color. The only reason I passed on them is the ones here did not have pleats.

They're nice pants. I picked up a pair myself a while back. My only complaint is that the legs are a bit baggy for my liking.

I ordered a pair from Amazon last week. I'm pretty sure they have the pleats. I can't wait to get 'em.

Well, today I just got an email from Amazon informing me that they don't have the Merona Vintage Khaki pants in my size anymore... I almost cried. I thought I'd found the perfect pants in my price range and here they go, "We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you." Is there anywhere I might be able to find these or something similar in a 34X34? Please help me out.

If you have any Target stores near you they might have them. That is where I first saw them.

Actually, there are a couple of Targets in the Knoxville area. And there's also a Super Target! Well, I might just check it out my next day off from work. Didn't really think about that one. Thanks, G-Mann.
