Definately the best Wested pattern I've seen. Very similar to the Nowak Raiders from what I've seen of them. Great pockets, collar and fit around the shoulders. The crispe leather is rather OTT in terms of the texture (like some of the more extreme shrunken lamb TNO used). The colour is quite red in certain lights but much darker in other conditions. The red tones remind me of what we see in the Raven Bar scenes of Raiders. I specified a long back length (26") and for once I have a Raiders jacket that feels long enough. I put the jacket through the washing machine to knock some of the shine off. The construction seems first class.

Jacket looks great!! I really love mine as well and is already starting to show signs of wear. This is one jacket that is not meant to be babied. Beat the tar out of it and the red undertones will show through even more making it look very rustic. It just looks fantastic! Enjoy it and congratulations.

Usually I'm in favour of artificially distressing my Indy jackets but this leather has so much character already that's really not a sensible option. Whatever hide you choose from Wested this hero pattern is defiantly the one to go for. It's not gunslingers TNO masterpiece but this is as close as I'm going to get on my budget

DJD, good to see you around again. Beautiful jacket my friend.
I had swore that I would buy no more Indy jackets, but, the Wested Hero really has me tempted. Hearing people compare them to TN jackets makes it even harder to resist.

Hey kwad! It's a great jacket. Better than my previous Wested, Todd custom and Magnoli. This is the perfect patern at last and for the price (compared to TNO or even a USW or G&B) is a steal. Nothing wrong with the construction either. Looks and feels bulletproof . If only Wested would improve their communications....

It's the lamb 'crispe' skin. As I said , it's very similar to some of the shrunken lamb TNO used. Yes it's OTT but I like it given that I've spent years trying to get regular lamb to look more interesting!

The grain is kinda "Dino-croco-gator" looking, but, that's why it's so cool.
A kid at work who considers himself a "hipster" told me that old looking short leather jackets with crazy grain like that are very popular with his crowd.
So, DJD, it looks like your in style!

No matter what I did to my regular lamb jackets, they always seemed to maintain a smooth unworn look.
