Well it was bound to happen eventually. I purchased more hides this weekend and they have gone up. Not just a little either. I however will only have to increase $15.00 per whip to offset the difference. So the Raiders, Doom and Crusader bullwhips will now start at $250.00 for 5,6 & 7 ft. The Streets of Cairo, Indy 4, Paramount & Young Indy will remain at $255.00 due to extra binding and dye procedures. Also I want to let everyone know as of now 10-23-11 I am booked up for the year. Further orders will start shipping out in mid Jan. 2012. I really appreciate all of you Indy fans that have helped make this years whip business a big success. Thanks again, -Dusty

You're special in that you can raise prices without worrying about
every other whip maker's prices being a little lower. All the roo
whip makers are in a kind of stalemate right now because prices
haven't raised in a long time but leather prices have raised a lot.
Still, your prices are well worth what you produce, you could
have your whips $200 more expensive and they'd still sell, though
I know you wouldn't just do this for no reason.

Dusty, i'll be ordering a Streets 10ft from you this coming weekend.
Was wondering, does the steel cable run from heel knot to the end of braid. Don't worry, i'm not thinking about swinging on it, i was simply curious.
I actually can't believe the quality of your whips for the price. Can't wait to be a customer.

I am unaware of how he attached the cable, but I do know that it runs through the entire length of the whip. Again, I'm not sure if it goes through the handle somehow or if its attached to the end of the handle.

From what Dusty has told me, the handle section is made of 1/2" steel pipe and the cable runs from the butt end all the way to the tip of the fall hitch. (Dusty, please correct me if I'm wrong)
Any way you slice it, Dusty's whips are one the best bargains in the whip world. And that includes the new prices.

Thank you to everyone for your understanding with the prices. This was not something I wanted to do but I can't control increased material prices. To answer Ebeneezers' question; the cable does start inside the handle at the heel knot and ends inside the fall hitches. -Kwad is correct- -Dusty

Don't get the SOC whip, your raiders whip will take on an "aged"
look as you use it. The SOC whip is mainly for people who don't
plan on using the whip much, but want a used look.

Thanks for the heads up.
Feel like a kid again and Dusty was great to talk to.
Sounds to me like it could be Doom whip and Raiders Jacket, Fedora next then...........

Hey all, new to the forums and this is my first post. Just placed an order with Dusty for a Raiders whip last night. He said it should arrive in mid May, just in time for summer. I'm very excited I've wanted an Indiana Jones style whip since I was a kig but the cost was so prohibitive and most of the cheaper whips didn't look very good, but Dusty's whips look fantastic and from what I've read everyone seems to love them as well. Anyway thanks again Dusty and I'll post some pics when it arrives a few months from now.
