U.S. Wings Sizing Information

I've lurked around this forum quite a while and have run into some fantastic information. Unfortunately, I'm not a screen accurate kind of guy but am looking for a great looking "close enough" Jacket.

I recently purchased a Large Todd's Costumes jacket and it is far too small. I wear a size 44L in a suit jacket and Wested's sizing for a 44L looks to be about spot on. Unfortunately it's a little high priced for me.

I've read people are happy with their U.S. Wing jackets and that they fit larger people.

My measurements are:

44L Suit Jacket
44" Chest
36" Waist
17-17.5" Neck
240 lbs.

Doing rough measurements somewhere around 27" on the back would be about right. Sleeves would need to be around 26-26.25" and I have no idea how to measure shoulder but a nice fitting suit jacket I have fits at 7" from collar base to shoulder. It COULD be a smidge less.

I'm looking at the Antique Lambskin on U.S. Wings and have found info that leads me to believe the Large would be my preferred size. Alternatively, there's the Steerhide in Long as well but I have no idea where to go. I have emailed them for more information but nothing beats info from people who actually care and have bought the jackets!

Thanks for your information and if anyone wants specific info on Todd's Large let me know and I'll measure it all up in case you were looking for one (while I still have it before it is sold.)

I found a guy selling a large (I assume regular since he did long state long) on a site here:

Chest pit to pit: 22 1/2"
Storm Flap: 25 3/4"
Sleeve Length (top): 27"
Sleeve Length (Underarm): 20"
Shoulder: 7"
Back Length (bottom to collar stand): 27 1/4"
Collar Stand: 1 1/4"

edit2: I measured a Todd's large and here are some rough measurements (best I could do!):

Collar base to jacket back: 23"
Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff): 23.5"
Sleeve (pit to cuff): 18.5"
Shoulder to collar base: 7"
Pit to pit: 21.5"

he's actually on this forum too. you can find his ad for that jacket in the marketplace here on indy lounge. Us wings jackets tend to fit depending on the jacket. the legend jackets from us wings are a slimmer fit, opposed to the hero jackets that tend to fit roomier.

Thanks for the information! I went ahead and ordered and asked them questions. Worst case scenario I pay shipping to exchange the jacket. Buying jackets from eBay was going to get too expensive and unfortunately as much as I like Todd's none of the sizes are destined to fit me.

you cant go wrong with a us wings. i own two and love them. post some pics when you get it!

They recommended a 2X Long... that is absolutely huge. Going to just keep my Large order and pick from there. Maybe I should have picked XL but who knows. I just CANNOT see 2x L being a size for a 6'1 guy who wears a 44L. I've never worn over a size XL jacket in my life. For reference I just tried on a Large Tall Craft & Barrow (Kohl's Brand) leather jacket I had in the closet and it fits well.

I really wish they'd just post measurements somewhere instead of extremely generic sizing information.

I am 6'2 and wear a 44r and the large Us wings ( which i'm trying to sell) fits me just fine, you'll be okay with a large, if not then you exchange it.

it's okay, getting a new jacket gives you the chance to break it in on your own and enjoy the deep, rich new leather smell that the jacket will have for a while. But in a way I feel bad that i said something...

My exchange was fully processed October 11th. I had to email them on the 18th asking where my new jacket was. They overlooked my payment difference I sent. I called today since there was still no jacket and I wanted it by this weekend. He looked at it wasn't even shipped with no reason why.

I'm sure they're a good company but they literally completely screwed me over for this weekend. Chances are it'd become too hot inside and I'd lose it anyways but it's the principle on how awful the service was. I shouldn't have to babysit my internet orders and call daily.

So how did the large US Wings fit U? I am driving to their store in a week to try and get a jacket. They R a 4 hr drive for me and I emailed them and they said they didn't have a large in the striated lamb but just a large long. I am 6' 2" 180lbs and they said a large long is what they suggested. Not sure if they suggested that because of my size or because they are out of the large. Im a slim guy and not looking to wear a parachute.
