Howdy all!
I've been looking at a few jackets and am having a very hard time choosing which jacket to get.
I'm looking for a screen accurate jacket that is very durable.
Which of the many makers do you think has the most durable jackets?
When I say durable I mean best quality and thickness of leather as well as craftsmanship.

I had an Expedition, and while it was well made, they are made with disproportionately wider shoulders and shorter sleeves, such that to get the sleeves the proper length, you have to order up a size or so, and then the shoulders droop over your real shoulders, which makes the body of the jacket appear too large and feel "funny". I like the fit of the US Wings VIP jacket much more, which fits properly when ordered in my regular size. ron521.homestead.com/gibsonandbarnes.htmlron521.homestead.com/USWingsVIP.html

The pics look awesome.
That's the one thing that has me nervous about ordering a jacket. I like to try them on and see which has the better fit.
Personally I'd like a slimmer fitting jacket cuz I know after a while it will stretch out and form better to my body.

If you want SA then Wings will not do. The zipper is on the wrong side. I have one that is looking a little sad after my usual water based distressing.
If you can afford it a G&B is a good option the do S R and T versions. I have a regular and the sleeves seem to run short in IMO. It's a good cut but misses out in the current round of ULTRA SA specs.
A Wested hero in goat is cost effective and SA, but you will not get it to look lived in from regular wear. I have never had an issue with Wested durability, I would go for a full cotton liner. I have cowhides and a horsehide Westeds and they are tough as nails. My lamb is my most comfortable jacket ever, although some will tell you that the leather is fragile, my 6 year old one is perfectly sound and looks, well lived in.

ditto with what Kt. Templar said, I got a wested horsehide earlier this year and love it! your best bet is to get a custom made, it makes it one of kind. i just wish the weather would change here in idaho so i can wear the it again.
