Hello all. I am the newest addition to the indylounge family. Anyway, I'm looking for a good place to get a MKVII from in the U.S. All of the websites I have checked are out of stock. Does anybody know of a place that is in stock right now? Any help would be appreciated!!!!!
Thanks in advance, -Indiana Ryan

Hey Indiana Ryan, welcome to Indy Lounge! I have no source to offer, but wanted to be sure to say hello and welcome you here. I'm sure someone will pop in soon with a good place to check. Ken

Ryan, Also, Welcome to the Lounge. Off hand I cannot think of a quick way to find one. Perhaps place a wanted ad. Todd's costume is out of them right now. You could try: www.whatpriceglory.com/mkviibag.htmlThey are also out of repro's but may still have originals. Cheers, G-MANN

I'd be wary of buying an original from whatpriceglory - quite a few of their stock suffered from dry rot and fell to pieces. If you do order from them, get them to test the bag for strength first, especially around the strap rings. Otherwise I'd order from Endicotts in the UK

Well, mine isn't the exact same model but it's very close. It's a Reproduction Mk.VI Gas Mask Bag. You can order it from this site. www.lawranceordnance.com/new/equipment-bags.htmlEven though it's overseas the bag did arrive fairly quickly. I think it was a little over a week. Oh, you would have to order the strap I have seperate though. I got my leather strap from Todd's Costumes. It works great and the price was pretty cheap. By the way welcome to the board.

Ryan,
I think you'll be happy with it once you get it. I've had mine for a while now and I haven't had any problems with it. It's very well made and I think the faded green color is perfect.

The MKVI from lawrence ordnance is a great bag but it has no vent hole et no side disk....

Yes, that's true and that's because it's not the exact same model as Indy's. IF your looking to be totally SA then you need the vent hole. To me it's not important at all. The bag isn't being used for it's original purpose anyway.

The truth is though, once I make an Indy movie and show it to people, nobody's going to say "hey, thats an MKVI, not an MKVII, I can't stand this movie anymore". I think it'll be just fine, I just need to get my strap and holster from todds costumes and I'll be set. Quick question about the strap though(instead of creating a whole new topic), Im 6'1, so, I should probably get the 72" strap, right?

You and I are the same height and my strap seems to be long enough for me so you should be able to go with the 65" length because I believe that's what mine is. I went back to double check the receipt and all it says is Deluxe bag strap and I don't remember having the option to pick a length back when I got it. Here's how the bag hangs on me with the strap.

I fixed the link in Oak's post above. It just had an extra "period" at the end, so I removed it.

Hi MrF, The costumebay one is .... ok. it's not in the repro league, first it's made of grey denim, 2 the pattern is way off and 3 it has a plastic strap that is too short. With the amount of work you'd have to do to it.... heck the best option remains an Endicotts. With the prices Kevin sells them for everything else is just a waste of energy. Ask him for an grade 2 and it's even cheaper. Trust me. .

OK, that sounds cool. I might get on just for the heck of it and add my own strap. I'm cool with around 75% accuracy, if it's even that much. But, yeah I think it might even be fun trying to perfect it.
Thanks for the info.

Still looking for an Indy bag ? I recently ordered an original MK VII from WPG...they recently aquired some in "unissued" condition. Should be getting it in a week or so. www.whatpriceglory.com/mkviibag.html

I just got my Costumebase replica bag. It is a bit off. The stitching on the sides are not right, and the drain holes are smaller and not as accurate as most. But I still like it. I used a leather strap from Todd's. It works a lot better than the original vinyl strap with brass buckle.
Anyway, pictures soon!
