Where do you find the caps for the gun? Mine arrived from Todd's without any and when I called, they advised the gun doesn't come with any and they're really hard to find.
Thanks,
gman71

Thanks, gman71 I bought my caps from Todd's Costumes last year. It looks like they don't have them any more. :/ It does appear that they are getting harder to find. I'll have to be conservative with them. -Josh

Hi guys, I hope you can help. Living in the UK, it is really hard to be able to buy any of the Indy revolvers. Forget about importing it from the USA or elsewhere. UK Customs will simply confiscate it (even if it's a toy gun). I was in Hong Kong recently, and I had the beautiful Tanaka Works replica of the 'Raiders' revolver in my hand. I could have bought it new for 170.00 GBP, but I did not want to take the risk (and go through the tremendous hassle) of bringing it with me to the UK. It was painful having to leave it there, since it's the only item left to complete my Indy gear. Now for the question: Are you guys familiar with the rubber (prop) replica of the 'Raiders' revolver? Does any of you own one? If so, could you please take a few good pictures of it and post them on this site? I know that there is a UK-based company that has it for sale every now and then. This is the website: www.frontiermodels.co.uk/Smith-Wesson-.45-Revolver-FOR-USA-CANADA-CUSTOMERS-ONLY-p-20032.htmlHowever, the price for the finished kit is 96.99 GBP. I find this price quite outrageous considering it is just a piece of rubber. However, it may be the only option I have left. However, before I pay that sum, it would be nice to get some feedback about the item from anybody who owns it. Does it have a good finish? Does it look good as part of the Indy costume? Is it really worth paying that price? Please let me know if you can. Thanks very much in advance!

I have a resin S&W as shown in the link... at least I'm pretty sure it's the same, by the label on the box. It's a good kit, but I'm almost certain it's a recast from this one from Western Stage Props. Of course, it's a recast of a real S&W, too. I have the Webley Mk IV that WSP sells. It's very nice. The plus is you don't have to paint it up, but you can repaint it if need be. www.westernstageprops.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WSP&Product_Code=IJG2Even though I don't own the exact replica WSP sells, I would go with that one. If you are able to get it past customs, that is. I hope this was somewhat informative/helpful. -Josh

I just purchased my S+W PFC revolver (along with a bunch of other cool gear, including the Han Solo Boots) so I'll post some pictures and a review once they are all in hand! Can't wait to get these as I've been looking to purchase them for months now!

I won't be able to get any photos or video reviews in for a while, but here is my review of this pistol that I just left on Todd's website for his outstanding Smith and Wesson PFC Revolver Replica.
While many of Todd's items don't have the frills in terms of packaging, this joint effort by Todd's Costumes and Tanaka Works of Japan is a really nice collaboration in packaging as well as product.
The box is a really nicely designed item in and of itself and the PFC gun inside is securely packed in it's styrofoam case. Upon removing it from it's bag, I found the pistol to be lightly greased (likely to prevent the bag from sticking and or keep the metal components from tarnishing). The orange tip of the barrel was nicely done, without the sloppy look you tend to see on most modern replicas that have to comply with federal and state gun laws.
The pistol itself has a substantial feel and a nice heft. It feels solid in the hand, with great attention to detail in every aspect. If I didn't know that the grip was plastic, I'd swear it was real wood, and the Smith and Wesson Medallion is spectacular! The swing out cylinder feels nice and sturdy, and the ejector lever works perfectly. The knurling of the release catch is well done as is the engravings of the Smith and Wesson logo and other detailed markings. From every reference photo I've seen from Raiders of the Lost Ark, this Indy gun replica matches it down to every last detail!
Loading the cartridges is straight forward and it feels really cool to get the pistol loaded and ready to fire. The added weight of the bullets makes the gun feel all the more real. While I haven't used the gun to fire caps yet, I happened to get some of the high powered caps that Todd's offered a while back, and having tested them on another PFC gun that I owned, I can say that these are really LOUD!
Overall I am so pleased with this purchase! I can't recommend it highly enough and for those perfectionist costumers like me, a resin pistol will never hold a candle to a well crafted PFC gun replica like this. The price is high, but considering how costly it would be to get a real S+W pistol (along with your gun license if you didn't have it) this is worth the investment.
Knowing how much Todd probably invested to make this product, his asking price is more than fair, and I hope that not only does he sell a TON of these, but that we might one day see a Webley "WG" breaktop PFC Replica in the future!
Exceptional job Todd and Company!
In short, save your money Indy Costumers, and BUY ONE!

I'm taking my Tanaka Smith & Wesson and "rebluing" it. Original "Midnight Gold" finish (right out of box): After A LOT of sanding and a bottle of liquid blue: It still needs a good deal of work, but so far, I'm liking the results. Somewhere down the road I'm going to get some vintage wood S&W grips, too. -Josh
