So, I've considered novapelle a new option for the Indy jacket. It's warm for Indiana's cold winters, and it distresses nicely (so the internet says). Can you guys give me some information on novapelle? Is it weak? How warm is it? Does it look bad? What do you guys think?

Yes, I have wondered about that style as well. Just the name of it sounds nice.

I have a custom novapelle LC/CS from Wested. It is a soft, yet thick cowhide with a brushed finish (it feels slightly velvety). That hide is a good match for a CS jacket.
It has a thin, darker pigment on the surface of the leather that is scraped off quite easily. It doesn't take much to distress it.
I got mine with a full cotton liner and it is great for colder weather (much warmer than a lambskin with a nylon or satin liner).

Novapelle is cool cow! Happy cow, who knows? Not so happy if you are made into a jacket? 3 options. Copper, dark novapelle and predistressed hide that looks alot like crystal skull leather.
