Well, I finally got my $19.99 Carolinas...but I think they're too big for me. Here's a pic... ;D Kidding, of course...I'll have a few quick pics up later. In the meantime, I'll give you my first impressions: I have to say, these are, without a doubt, the MOST comfortable boots I've ever worn. Really easy on the feet, and you don't even notice the steel toe, until you kick someone...er...I mean something, yeah, yeah, until you kick something...that's it. The only thing I don't immediately like? The pointedness of the toe. I realize they probably aren't that pointy, but it just seems that way to me, since the shoes I wear most often are very squared in the toe region and the other boots I wear are very rounded. No biggie, I just need time to get used to that. Otherwise I love every aspect of them...they have a perfect Indy look for a minimal investment. I still can't believe I scored a pair of $20 bucks!!! EDIT: For those wondering, I ordered a size 12D and they fit perfectly. I'm also plannin' on switching out the laces once I find a pair that looks like the Alden laces...pics will be up later tonight (although I'm sure everyone has seen enough of the Carolinas lately... ;D)-GCR

Excellent! Can't wait to check out the pics. I agree, they do seem sort of pointy, but not any pointier than an Alden boot. Pretty much the same shape, only the taller profile. Congrats, you got yours for $5.00 cheaper than me! Kudos 'Blues

Great pics! I'd say the only other thing I'd change, besides the laces(as you stated), is the bare leather that shows at the seams. I think I'm going to add some shoe polish to that to darken it. I didn't really notice it until i saw that head on pic above. I wonder if a brown Sharpie marker would work? 'Blues

Man.... those are some really pointy looking boots! Only kidding, congrats on the good fit and great price. I think the new laces and darkening of the bare leather strip that IB mentioned will seal the deal. Now, if you we only knew what the EH stands for... Ken

Electrical Hazard! That's what IB figured out. It's kind of obvious once you think about it. I'm glad I didn't try to order these in the 12 D. With the pointy toe I would never have gotten my feet in them. Actually, the toe isn't really pointy it's just very round. Not a bad thing in my opinion.

Where do you buy them from?

Everything to be purchased is in the "Where To Buy" threads of each section, or the master section on the main page of the forum (at the bottom). Since the actual model has been discontinued at the moment by Carolina... this is the best place I have found for them: stores.ebay.com/Shoes-For-Auction_Carolina-Work-Safety-Boots_Mens_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZ1QQfsubZ589006QQftidZ2QQtZkmI don't own a pair myself, as I have the JCrew Duxbury Ruggeds (also dicontinued at the moment). But, both are fantastic close enough Indy style boots, and the price here can't be beat. Try the auctions first, if they have your size. Ken

Yes, I do believe you have to have an account on Ebay.

Great pictures!
Thanks for reminding me how close-enough they look when on someone else's foot. And for 20 bucks!
