Okay, don't laugh. We had an order of jackets come in that the manufacturer decided to change the yoke to make it fit better. It looks like the Bantu Wind jacket. The leather is a VERY sturdy lambskin with a grain you'll like. They are a little stiff, so some water or alcohol will be needed to remove the wrinkles from shipping. There are some minor quality issues (loose threads, etc) that can easliy be repaired with a needle and thread or sewing machine. Another issue is that the zippers are hard to work, but they should break in. We have some "seconds" that tore slightly at the lower corner of the handwarmer pocket when we tested them. Again, needle and thread and you're good to go, or just leave it as is. The tears are less than 1/2" and can't be easily seen. Some also have insulated linings. Price is $99.95 for the firsts, $79.95 for the seconds. Here are some pics: Sorry about the model. Our regular guy wasn't available! We don't have many of these, so if you want a cheap beater, here's your chance! -Todd

Having just gotten mine, I'd say if you want a deal, go for the Bantu....They are great quality, dirt cheap, and the only "wrong" thing on them is the yoke seam which is on the shoulder rather than just slightly to the rear (Screen accurate)...The jackets themselves are perfect.. You'll find much the same in Todd's regular jackets I'm sure, but the Bantu Wind ones are NOT inferior to them, not in my opinion... Lovely jacket Todd..

I placed an order for the Bantu wind jacket on Friday night, with the only pay option i could use being the "call-in credit card" (even though there arespaces on the order form for credit card #s and security codes?). Missed an email from them on saturday about their small window of office hours. Called in my info earlier this morning and all seemed fine. And then later this evening got an email about my order being refunded as the jackets are sold out.

I'd like to get one myself but I'm a little OCD when it comes to sizes. I'm 5'10" and 210 lbs. And have a comfortable Wested in a 44. So by his charts I would think maybe a large, but...

What size chest are you tex1272? I bought a large and I'm around a 40 chest and it fits loose, according to Todd's chart, it should fit up to a 45 chest.

I wouldn't post a "normal" in a thread on "bantu wind" type jackets.....I'm not that stupid...It's the Bantu wind as advertised by Todd...Large size...
Great jacket..Lovely leather, not especially thin, a touch thinner than my Wested off the rack Lambskin...But nicer grained..

I agree with fifthchamber, one very nice jacket! and the grain in incredible! I now see why people say Todd's jacket is one of the best for Screen Accurateness!

Got mine today. It doesn't have the drape like my Todd standard does, but I am happy with it. The fit is more like my Wested custom. Also, I got the "2nds" and so far I can't find any remote chance of a flaw anywhere!

Were you meaning me? If so then no, my jacket isn't insulated...Just a first class normal lined one in Large...

Well I just ordered mine, a large second normal liner, I figure I can sew up the hand warmer, or my wife said she could. I will post some pics once it comes in. I have been wanted a jacket to distress through wearing it, and after hearing from Fifthchamber this sounds like a winner. It is much easier for me not to stress over $79 compared to the cost of replacing my Wested.
