So, John, did you model it after the Warren Beaty movie version or more off the original pulp character?

The specs and shape are after the movie. I looked at the comic but it's very hard to go by specs from a comic. They are all over the place with shape, style and specs. I had the same problem with the Spirit hat.
With the spirit hat ( I did both) I followed as close as possible when replicating the movie spirit hat. When it came to the comic I tried to do what I thought would be the specs for the period of the comic that I liked best of will's.
When it came to the Dick Tracy hat. I'm a much bigger fan of the comic than the movie. I thought they did a good job making the hat for the movie based off the comic. So, let's say the movie was a big influence in this hat.

Sorry I am late commenting on this thread, but John, that is one cool hat. I agree the comic was much better, but I did think Warren Beaty was the perfect actor to play that role.
