well folks, as a lot of you know I got a Wested horsehide a little over a month ago and I love the thing to death. Also some of you know I am an artist and I am going to school. Yesterday on my way from from painting class, I noticed splotches of paint in different parts of my jacket, oil paint! How the hell did it get there, i ended up figuring it out, but I went and grabbed a sponge and two clothes, wet one down with cold water and grabbed a bottle of ultra-Dawn dish soap, the same stuff I use for cleaning my brushes. I rubbed the areas with the soapy sponge and wiped off the soap with the damp rag and dried the area immediately. The paint was on the storm flap, left cargo pocket, the collar, and a couple of other small spots. To make sure I got ALL the paint off, I scoured the jacket about four times to make sure I got all the paint and then had my wife look over the jacket, she didn't see anything unusual so I was able to restore the jacket. I am not wearing it to that class again! I always take special care in that class, But all it takes is one time I guess. I am thinking of getting saddle soap and cleaning the entire jacket some more, I don't know if it's necessary, I have looked it over a couple of times and it looks fine.
anyways, crisis solved!
