From what I understand, Red Wings were Deborah Nadoolman (sp?) 's first choice for Indy's footwear, but Harrison Ford preferred the Alden's to them as he'd been using them for years as a carpenter...

I saw these in my local shoe store two days ago... It's Tokyo, so the prices are higher than most places (on Earth at least), but they were priced at about 30,000 yen.. They did look lovely though... Very close to the Aldens and very comfortable looking... It's odd that the US has them for the Autumn.. If they're being sold here I'd expect them to be sold in the US at the same time at least.... Perhaps they're already selling there too? (30,000 yen isn't cheap, but still half the price of the Alden's here, which generally sell for 60,000 upwards..).. Regards

Hmm....Can't seem to find them on the Red Wing Japan store though.. They have Black Cherry Featherstone Beckman Boots, but the colouring isn't the same as I saw in the shop.. Which is interesting.. Maybe the shoes are being sold earlier here? Or maybe the photo of "Black Cherry" is misleading... Anyway... They were that price.. So.. Perhaps I'm just off on the colour this time? (Nothing came up under "Red Wing 213" on my search.. So I'm probably wrong?

The 213's are nice, but, I really like the 9029's better. With the exception of the speed laces, the pattern is very close to Alden's. If they are available in the Oxblood Mesa color and white stitch, they would be almost perfect.

I've got the Red Wings 405s on my wish list. It's close enough for me. The only inaccuracy is the top. It even has a screen-accurate model number! ;D Steven
