That's an awesome deal if someone cam score a pair of those for $26.00! I never did like the red color they added to make them more Alden like. Indy's boots were never red or even close to it, so the first thing that would go for me is the red color. I much prefer the brown color of the Ruggeds or even the Huskers over the Alden red or this color. However.... for this price, anyone with a size 8-1/2 foot could buy a tub of brown shoe polish and change that quickly! Cool find PH, Ken

Would Pecards work on a boot like that as well? To kind of darken it up? I missed out on getting my size when they marked them down awhile back because they were still like $75. I really didn't have the cash at the time.....what's new! ;D This is a great deal though. I did a double take when I saw how much they were asking for them. As far as color goes I prefer either a dark brown or a faded brown.....kind of like the leather is already distressed. If those Skechers I bought would have been the color like they showed on the website I would have passed. That's why , for me at least , it helps to see things in person.....especially shoes.

Pecards or other leather sealing/conditioning products will work on the boots just fine. The Brown Pecards will work too, but it has a reddish base to it, which doesn't help much in getting the red out of these. It looks like IndyBlues used brown show polish or creme, but that's just a guess. I'll bet the Feiblings(sp?) leather dye you used on your holster would od the trick nicely! Ken

Yeah, I never thought about that. If I owned a pair of these boots I still wouldn't be able to use that dye. The bottle I used with my holster started leaking. My wife saw it and threw it away without telling me before she did it. I think I could have salvaged some of it. I've looked for that particular dye since then here in town and all anyone seems to carry is black! I don't really plan on dying anything else anytime soon. I think if I get another holster someday I'll get one from Jeep.

My JCrews were the sort of light brown color, and what I did was use some brown Melatonin(sp?) shoe polish, then a coat of brown pecards lotion to seal the color in. Worked like a charm. 'Blues

My JCrews were the sort of light brown color, and what I did was use some brown Melatonin(sp?) shoe polish, then a coat of brown pecards lotion to seal the color in. Worked like a charm. 'Blues I bought some Meltonian brown and dark brown shoe creme to use on various products myself. In fact, I use them on a pair of dressier shoes I have sometimes too. The brown Pecards weatherproof dressing was too reddish for me, so the Meltonian stuff helped blend the colors on my holster and whip holder. Some of these products don't allow a sealer to permanently dry though, as they have a base that resists it's application. I found that out with my first bag strap and brown stains on my shirt... Ken

Yeah, I believe that's it. I wish I would have taken pics of Todd's holster before I dyed it. The dark brown did a fantastic job. I never even had to distress it.
