Well folks, I finally did it, a dream of mine for 2 some odd years has finally come true, after a good deal of begging and pleading with my wife (who, to her credit eventually caved in.) I ordered a Raiders custom made in Horsehide from Wested. I was a little anxious about this because i went and ordered it from the site alone.
I debated over this for a while because the price of Us Wings 'Legend' in imported cowhide dropped to $200.00, I was about to place my order and i wasn't sure about it. The thought occurred to me that i could get a jacket from the guy who made the jackets for the original film! Well I inquired with Gemma first about the lead time and the extra charge for double stitching for the jacket, I was told 10-14 days lead time and that they had just recently making double stitching a standard for all their custom mades. So I went about ordering it on March 2nd and a week later I got notified that it was shipped and I saw it on my doorstep this afternoon! I was so excited, I tore open the bag(s) and looked at the jacket and checked the measurements and other things I asked for and let me tell you, Spot On! It's exactly what I ordered. I tried it on and I fell immediately in love with it. It has a rich, strong leather smell that makes you want to bury your face into it. Now since it's Horsehide it is gonna need some time to break in and loosen up an bit, the collar's a tad stiff, but should relax in time. Overall, I Love this jacket and I am impressed with it.
I have already taken a few pictures with me in it, here's one, more to come if anyone wants to see some more.
