Hi all! I'm new to this forum, this is my first post here... On January, 14/2011 I ordered a VIP Indy-style Adventurer Jacket, size XL. I received an auto-reply from orders@uswings.com containing the number of my order and some words like these: "we pride ourselves on the outstanding quality of our products and our tremendous customer service. We hope your experience at www.uswings.com was a pleasant one and that we met all your expectations." I wanted to know a tracking number of the shipment (and actually I wanted to know if they had shipped my order), during the past 10 days I sent them 3 emails asking for that info. But never received a reply. Oh, I know, a period of ten days has past only, but I'm a little worried - I've read some posts here with kinda negative experience regarding timing, they kept on saying "we'll ship it next week" or something else. But I didn't receive any reply at all. I even don't know if they have a VIP size XL in stock (in normal internet shops some goods may be marked as "out-of-stock" or "back-order" which is not the case with the US Wings online shop ) I wouldn't have ordered a jacket if it was out of stock. If they replied my emails saying that it was out of stock, I'd have liked to replace it with a lambskin one... But they did not and do not reply my emails:( I could not know that my purchase would turn out to be so strange... Maybe it's too early for panic? What sort of experience did you guys have with USWings? I live in Russia and paid by PayPal...

Welcome to the Lounge! People had this same problem with Wested's customer service. Try calling them. You're more likely to get a response that way. Steven

Welcome to IndyLounge Easyrider As you are in Russia, your email address may not be recognised as "safe" by US Wings, as some company's email accounts only accept emails from recognised email providers. You could try signing up for a free account with GMail or Hotmail, and then emailing them again? It would definitely be a cheaper/easier option than trying to call internationally to the US!

They probably think you are going to invade them.

Thanks for your responses, guys! Pennsylvania Jones, it's shown in their site, that the phone number is for "ordering only. you will not get any information regarding your order status etc." But I think I'll have to call them in the future if nothing changes. stargate, my e-mail address belongs to gmail.com:( Kt. Templar "They probably think you are going to invade them." LOL If they replied my e-mails and provided information about my order, I wouldn't even thing about any sort of invasion... But currently I wish I could invade 'em:DDD

Gmail already eh? Well, it can't that they're blocking you then... Looks like you'll have to try calling them mate, but just be aware of the time difference (I know it sounds silly, but people forget) ;D Hope it all gets sorted anyway Easy Rider, and don't worry, your English is very good

stargate, thanks! Yeah, I guess I'll have to call them... I was just hoping, that some guy from this forum would say: "Hey, calm down, it's normal for USW! I had the same experience, they just check their e-mail box once a month!". But the situation really looks pretty strange to me. This is my first sad experience with Western internet shops:( I admit that they check their mail not often, but how a customer should feel, if the money has been taken and there are no updates regarding the order? The worst thing is that i really want that VIP Indy jacket:( But of course, not in April, or even May...

Yeah I must say, some of the best internet companies for both communication, and shipping I've experienced have been in Asia. But I think that's probably because they still have a strong sense of "pride in the work place" and real customer service - something that's lacking in most western businesses I've dealt/deal with If you don't manage to get hold of them, your best bet may be just to forget that you ordered it, and then it'll be a lovely surprise when it turns up at your door

It doesn't seem like you're alone though...Over on Club Obi Wan there's been a post recently about someone worried because he can't email US Wings and get replies...Most of the advice there has stated that it's always best to call Sarge..(David Hack, the owner of US Wings) since he's a straight-up guy and will sort out the problem as soon as he can for you..You could also try posting this over on Club Elsewhere since Sarge uses that site and he'd see it easier there perhaps? If you don't want to call in person...
Either way, it does seem as though US Wings isn't ALWAYS fast at replying, and sometime it takes a long time to come through, but once the problem gets heard it's usually very quickly dealt with..So I'd try calling, or posting over on Club Elsewhere (Or sending Sgt. Hack a private mail there?)...
I'm sure it'll be sorted easily...US Wings seems like a very decent company, and passionate about what they do, so I'm sure it's just a slip...Best fixed by talking direct to Sarge or Myke perhaps...They'll sort you out in no-time it seems... Have faith! US Wings'll come through...(And I'm British, so not allied one way or the other...LOL)

Thanks again, guys! fifthchamber, you reassured me, indeed! No I'm no so mad at them... I'll try to send a PM to Sgt. Hack, but I could not find that "Club Elsewhere" Can anyone give me link, please? Or, if it's prohibited here, just explain, where that Club can be found? I tried searching, but did not succeed:( Thanks again!

I think he means Club Obi Wan, which we also refer to as the Bovine forum. Steven

LOL...Steven, yup...Thanks mate...Cow... It's a good place to find most of the people who make and use these things, here as well, but with membership in both you're well covered if there's a problem, since you can talk about it easily and sooner or later you'll get someone coming on who knows what to do... Mostly..... It might take some time, but it's probably not a bad idea... And Sarge is often there checking on the US wings threads...

Yeah...I'm sure it'll come through soon...Maybe not the weekend, but perhaps if it's a busy week it'll take that long... Did you give up on calling Sarge then? That may be the fastest route to the solution? Either him or a man called "Myke"?I think both of them seem to know the best way to deal with issues you have, and Sarge owns US Wings, so you can't get much better than that... Good luck in either event... As for the help, well, Не за что!!

fifthchamber, I beleive I could only make a phone call in the middle of February. Currently I'm on a field trip. Tried to figure out and i looks like a phone call from my cell-phone (and yes, I'm in roaming) would cost realy pricey. And I can't use the Skype to make a phone-call - because the office is closed at night (when it's a daytime in Ohio - I remember about the time difference). And I have no internet connection at the hotel (if I can call it a hotel - just a village house, you know LOL) And international calls are prohibited both in the office and in the "hotel" Shipping address in the order was that one of my wife, so I hoped when I came home in February I'd have a nice VIP jacket... I'll try to deal with the Elsewhere club for now:)

Thanks, buddy:) I hope that COW will help! If not, I will make a phone call in February... But maybe, by that time the jacket will happily arrive!

Well, if you're using Gmail, like it was posted above, and my assumption that you're only using Gmail is correct, then you can't get in to COW. You have to have an inbox that you pay for in order to get in. (?) Believe me, I use Gmail, and I couldn't get into COW. That's why I'm here. But if you do have an inbox you pay for, you can sign in with that. Steven

You'll find lots, and I mean lots, of information on COW. If you have an acceptable e-mail account I guess that you pay for, you can get in. I'm sure you can find answers there.

I dunno about that....I used my hotmail.com account and they were more than happy to have me..So I don't think that that rule is being enforced especially? I think it's just an effort to prevent spammers messing the boards up...If you have Gmail it might work, or try making a Hotmail account since I know they accepted me with one... I wouldn't worry too much though..I'm sure they'll let you in... (Who in the world PAYS for an email account in the 21st century? Who charges for one! And what do you get as a bonus? Fine women and expensive cars? On loan? At least!)

Well, when my dad said that since Gmail wasn't an allowed email inbox, he wouldn't let me even try to make an account. I've just been to the registration page (And tried again to make an account), and it said that they don't allow FREE email accounts. Because they said that, it gave me the impression that there are email accounts that you have to pay for. Steven

Guys, at first I used my gmail.com account trying to get registered there, then I read the rules (LOL) and made another attempt usung my ***edu.ru domain. I hope that'll work... Looking forward to this weekend to get my profile there approved or disapproved%) Anyways, there's too much mess and fuss about one single order, I believe, the USW online shop shouldn't be run in this way, that's kinda frustrating:(

Well, I think it's rather easy to contact Sarge, but you need to use a method that HE uses, and that's the problem? From what I've seen US wings can be hit and miss regarding email response.. But quality wise and problem correction wise they have a lot of good reports, so I'd say that once you're in contact your problem is fixed fast...It's sad that they don't always reply to emails, but then, not everyone uses that method (as anyone waiting on an Adventurebilt will attest to).. So you sometimes just need to find the "right way" to make your problem heard... The best company online I've ever seen was HatsDirect.... They ALWAYS come through.. But that's because they PRIDE themselves on it.. And it's a matter of pride to do so... Not all companies are that bothered about online orders I guess..
