Cheers all, I am looking to get another custom WESTED, but this time in their "worn look" which according to Peter, is cowhide. Does anyone have one? Curious how heavy it is compared to horsehide. Also, is it stiff, etc. I go back and forth between the lambskin, which I know is soft and light. Any insight is helpful! THANKS! J  |

I got the worn look cowhide from wested and loved it...its looks very similar to novapelle and it doesn't weigh much more than my goatskin jacket, which was surprising, as for softness its not as soft as lamb or goat but it is still soft and comfortable, it was alittle stiff at first being brand new but after some wear it drapes better, personally I love the worn look I was very pleased when I got it......if you wanna see some pics of it I posted some on a thread not to long ago under the heading "got my new Wested LC jacket" christopher

Thanks again everyone, I did call today. Direct from the 'horsehides' mouth, WORN LOOK is a bit lighter than HH and not as stiff. Thank you also for the pictures, it was very helpful!

Hello Guys, Thanks so much for all the insight. I got it today, it is fantastic. Lighter than my old Wested Horsehide, distressed looking but not overdone, fits perfect. Not as stiff as HH. I just Bick 4'd the heck out of it and will be using it as a seat cushion for a few days, then another Bick 4 coat. Thanks for the help!

I just ordered a custom Raiders in "worn-look" cowhide, so I'd be very interested in seeing photos of the jacket if you get the time? I'll use Pecards on mine when it arrives, and I'm hoping it's a little thicker and solid than the Lambskin, since the winter here sucks and I'd like a little more protection this time round!
