I saved the link to this shirt a long time ago and I forgot about it. It does look like a very nice shirt and the image makes the material appear to be very soft as well. I guess the reason I forgot about it must have to do with the color. It's just to tan for an Indy shirt. It would make a great adventure shirt though.

Yeah, I was completely envisioning this as a spirit of Indy shirt, which is really backwards actually. The Indy shirt itself was inspired by WWII British officer shirts, which were very close to what the safari hunters/expedition types of that period wore as well. So, this safari style shirt should have the Indy shirts calling themselves, Spirit of WWII/English Expeditioner style. Oh ok.... you get the point! Yes, it does look like a very soft, refined fabric that would dress up the look a bit, if necessary. I can see this shirt selling for $80 in a Banana Republic store, so it's quite the deal in that respect. The only way I can ever wear expensive looking duds is on clearance or sale prices anyway! ;D Ken

My wife got one of these for me for Christmas, and it turned out to be a more rugged than dressy style shirt, as the zoom version of their photo suggests. Here are a couple of photos outdoors: This shirt is a notch darker than the Noel Howard, colorwise, so don't believe the slightly creamier color of Travelsmith's online photo. It's a heavier cotton that really gives you that "adventure shirt" feeling when wearing it. Thicker and more rugged than the LL Bean, yet very comfortable and natural feeling (if that makes any sense). It also hasn't been washed yet, but should be one of those shirts that gets better and better as it ages. It has the buttons on the arms to tie the sleeves up if preferred. Ths price has gone back up to $22.98, after the Christmas super sale ended... but, I would highly recommend one of these shirts to anyone digging this kind of look. Ken

Thanks for the link...Just placed an order. It does not look too tan for Indy. Why does everyone get so hung up on screen color? For gosh sake, shirts fade after sweat, sun and washing. Has this not occurred to anyone? I think that the shirt looks great. I never dress up as an Indy impersonator, just like the jacket and type of shirts. I will put mine to use on pack trip, etc. Just my 2 cents worth. Regards, Cowboy

Cool man, glad you liked it! I already have a Noel Howard shirt for my true Indy one, so all the rest are being used just as you do..... for everyday adventure wear. Ken

Ken Wow, that color looks nothing like the one on the website. That is a really nice looking shirt. If that Forever 21 shirt hadn't popped up I might have gone for this instead..... I'm going to have to cut back though on buying "Indy" style shirts. I'm going to try and get the white version of my last shirt and then leave it at that. Thanks for posting these shots Blues it really helps show off the shirt and let people see what the actual shirt color looks like.

I think the Travelsmith logo is very cool. If the shirt wasn't being washed right now... I would post a close-up photo of it, all stitched in color. You can see it at the website link in the first post of this thread... but, I do happen to have the bag this shirt came in: Call me weird, but I actually like the shirt more with this logo sewn into the inside of the collar! Hey boys, just got my shirt that I ordered on the 26th. It is a great shirt (even if it is tan! ;D ) and will be a great work horse. I may need to order a couple. The sleeve strap is a great feature too. Great find Ken. Regards, DW aka Cowboy

Very glad to be of some help with it! Reviews and real owner photos help sell things for me, so I just try to pass along what I can. Now, don't forget to post some shots of you wearing the shirt when it arrives. Afterall, we know you have a snazzy camera.... Ken
