Ok well I've always been fascinated by WWII and many things about it including the weapons, and I was thinking to myself what if Indy needed a rifle? See if your on an expedition through a Jungle or mountain etc... you would eventually need a way to hunt food or need a rifle to protect against wild natives (after all this is the world of Indiana Jones we're talking about ) Well He's probably going to have a back-pack on with plenty of supplies, his Mk VII Gasmask bag, a machete, and of course his trusty revolver. Though sometimes a revolver just won't cut it! You'll need something a little stronger and more accurate. So what type of rifle would Indy take? First we need to know that Indy would probably take something light and easy to carry. Something he can easily store in his back-pack. Well assuming this is after WWII, there is a gun I found. It is light, it has a foldable stock, has decent firepower and can get the job done, The gun is the M1 Carbine, (paratrooper model) When it folds it looks like this, It was used by American Paratroopers during WWII because it was lightweight and could pack a punch. The standard issue rifle for the Non paratrooper was the M1 Garand but it weighed to much and was to large for the paratroopers. So they made the M1 Carbine. I think it is a good choice for an Indy gun what do you guys think? ~Buck

I believe it would be a good choice since it could go in his back-pack and is small and portable

Looks good. Somebody ought to figure this into an Indy story. Perhaps Indy could buy one from a veteran. Steven

You know what, Indy carrying a rifle has never figured in my mind, and when thinking about it now it just seems wrong! But if he'd have to carry/use a rifle, I'd see him with something more akin to the Winchester, an underlever repeating rifle that has some character to it Of course it'd need to be a shorter/carbine version, for ease of storage & carry, but it just seems like he'd have something like that.

GOOD CALL BUCK! I love the m1. A friend of mine has one similar. Indy would definately carry that rifle But since Indy is so good with his whip and revolver... use of a rifle would be rare at best and only when he had to.

Well the reason I thought of it is in Crystal Skull when He takes a rifle from one of the Russian guys it is a M1 Carbine Mac has a Thompson, but it made me think if Indy HAD to carry a rifle it would be a rather good one for him to carry, though I prefer him without the rifle.
