It looks like you've got some serious leather mojo going on, especially on that left patch pocket (the striations popping out in wrinkled lines, I guess?).

well, wouldn't you know it... I went and bought one. lol just what I need: Another jacket! Time to make good on my promise to my wife that I am going to sell all of the old ones. The only jacket I like to wear is my Tony Nowak CS (which goes against my Raiders tendencies). It's just that its comfortable.
Is there any way to get them to switch the zipper to the Euro side? Or is that something I have to do at a tailor? Also, does anyone know the turnaround time on these?

Andy, I think regular sizes of the US Made are in stock and long sizes are still a few weeks off. No, they will not do any mods. That I am sure of. It also looks like the prices have gone up again. www.uswings.com/ijlegend.aspCheers, John

John, did you get that thing wet? It looks great. I'm thinking this time I'm not going to do a single thing to my jacket but wear it... that will be a first in my jacket owning career that I wont give it the washer/dryer treatment. I've encountered so many variations on lamb skin that didn't fit the bill, I'm really excited for this one. Does the jacket have some weight to it? I have a Magnoli lamb that feels like a tshirt in weight. I don't wear it for fear that I might rip it.

Andy, No sir, no water treatment at all. Just wore it every day. Mine is a size Large or about a 44 and It is about 4 pounds so yes it has substantial heft to it. IMHO it's the best Indy jacket I have had out of about 8 different ones. Here is one more pic. Jacket is one month old here. Cheers, John PS: IF you do decide to do the Washer/Dryer treatment be aware that the once nice soft Lambskin will become tough, stiff, dryed out and shirnk a size. It will also need to be relined from lining sag. You can see one that went through this treatment at FILMJACKETS.COM in the forum there.

The washer/dryer treatment is no good for synthetic liners. They don't shrink at all like cotton liners do. I've had bad luck with the washer/dryer thing with both types of liners though... just in varying degrees. Oh well... never again.

Many Thanks Andy. I'm really happy with the Moss green Penman. John's really found his niche and is making great strides as a hatter.
When you get your jacket just wear the heck out of it and I think you will be really happy. It seems stiff at first but breaks in super fast.
Cheers, John

Im just happy its a substantial lamb. It's got to be heavy and thick for me... like the weather outside since I moved back to the midwest.

Wings sprays these with a clear coat. Hence the shiny look. It starts to break down pretty quickly though.

HI, great jacket by the way! Looks amazing... was wondering if i could ask you a question because i'm really new on this stuff... what's the difference in material and quality between one US wing jacket and one of the Coyle's jacket that is sold by todd's costumes? DOes anybody know? Thanks! Sal This may be threadjacking, but I'll chime in with a quick opinion on that. Generally speaking, the Todd's Costumes jackets are, while good, quite a bit thinner than the US Wings jackets. So, the Todd's jackets make good light duty jackets, but aren't really built for long term endurance. That being said, many claim their Todd's are the best jackets they own, so your mileage may vary. I didn't have mine long enough to really get a good feel for it. On the other hand, US Wings jackets come in many flavors and qualities, which makes it very hard to talk about a "US Wings" as a single jacket. I have owned (cheaper) US Wings jackets that were as light weight as Todd's and not nearly as well made and I've owned ones (more expensive) that were far heavier cowhide and seem very durable. In the end, I would say a high-end US Wings is better quality than an average Todd's, but it is typically reflected in the price difference. If I were to buy one of the two again it would be the US Wings that G-MANN is showing off. If I were working under a strict budget, the Todd's is definitly a good jacket for the money. They tend to run small, though, so make sure you verify the exchange policy in the event one you order doesn't fit right. My 2 cents. TwistedOtter
