Now that I've got my lambskin Indiana Jones jacket, I need to take good care of it. I need to know all of the tips and things about lambskin leather care.
Should I apply any kind of leather protection like Pecards, and if so, how often? I want to stress that I DO NOT want to artificially distress this jacket in any way. It will receive natural distressing over the years through regular wear. I also DO NOT want to alter the color in any fashion, and I also DO NOT want to alter the texture or grain of it (make it smoother, make it rougher, etc.). I just want to know if there's anything I should do to make it last through the years.

I would not do anything just wear it and it should be fine. Now after the rains it will get hard if it gets soaked then put pecards on it so that away it does not get dried out or crack.

I've had a G&B Expedition in Lambskin for close to 5 years. It's been through snow, rain and heat and I have never treated it with anything and it's still in perfect shape.
So I say just wear it. If it seems like it is drying out for some reason I suggest a leather lotion.
Cheers, John

So, what you're saying is that if it gets rained on, I just get some Pecards? What kind of Pecards should I get? Do you have a link to the kind I should get? EDIT: G-MANN chimed in while I was in the process of submitting. Uh, this might sound a little clueless, but what kind of lotion should I get (and you say that I should use it ONLY if it absolutely looks like it needs it)? How often have you even used this kind of lotion? Again, that might sound clueless, but this is my very first leather jacket, and I want it to last.

Alright. These should be my last two questions for now. Will that be alright for my lambskin Gibson & Barnes Expedition? And how do I go about applying that kind of lotion, as in in what places do I put it, how much do I use, how do I apply it, etc?
Thank you for your time, and have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Yes, it will work on your Expedition. IF the need ever comes up. Just apply lightly with a soft cloth wherever it needs it or do the whole jacket. But like I said. My Expedition has been through quite a bit of severe weather and the leather is still like new without any treatment of any kind. ALSO: Congatulations on your Jacket. The Expedition is one hell of an Indy Jacket. You have choosen wisely. You can see mine when it was about 2 years old here: indylounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=jacket&action=display&thread=46&page=3Cheeers, John

When it gets soaked in rain it might be a good idea to use some Pecards. But like they said just wear it and you'll be fine. Just Pecards or leather lotion when needed.
