Oh yes you will need to go a size up in that pic I was wearing a brown thick pair of socks and I finally decided to put a pair of dress socks on and they were much comfortable. On th instep you really have to unlace them all the way down to get your foot into them. On these the instep just sort of makes a direct turn straight up and that is what makes it hard to get into.

Ah right, I know what you mean - my old-school 'jungle boots' need to be undo all the way down too Still, it's a minor inconvenience when you consider how comfortable/good looking they are ;D Cheers for the info Indydude2, will definitely consider these now

Told you that you would love them lol. Would you agree that theyre an exact match in person? The dressier shine will def come off with wear. Of course with these being cheap and identical to aldens there has to be an issue lol. That instep is a killer and the reason i sent mine back.

wait, aren't they missing the speed hooks though? Well, that seems to be the only thing they have against them. Still, I think the top eyelets could be replaced with speed hooks. Perhaps. Steven

wait, aren't they missing the speed hooks though? That, and they don't really look high enough to me... but it's a minor thing. Oh, and they're only available in black over here in the UK

Personally I don't like my boot too high, and that sucks about them being only black

Glad you managed to get something out of them! ;D We had a right faff trying to get an order through for a pair of Rodiguez - it all got processed fine (as far as we knew), and the next day the website said "Currently unavailable". What we thought this meant was that we'd managed to get one of the last pairs. A week went by, and after a rather long phone call, my boss found out that they had been out of stock at the time we ordered!?! They'd even processed the payment, and then realised their error, and claimed an automated "You will be refunded" email had been sent - we never got it!? Needless to say we got the refund in the end, but alas no boots Given this farce, I'd not trust Aldo so easily in future, and managed to get a nice pair of Indy style boots elsewhere for cheaper anyway But please post your review - hopefully Aldo have better service in the States than over here!

Just for those interested, I read on COW that the Aldo boots in general aren't as good quality as the Aldens. So if you NEED boots that last a lifetime, just save up for the Aldens. Just so you guys know. If you still like the Aldos, which should still be fairly durable, then you can buy them. Steven

What's the plan to distress them?

Go to a beach, or the backyard sandbox, and walk around in it until the boots are covered in sand. At least, that's one way to do it. I haven't heard of anybody who did it, as I made it up just now, but seems like a good idea to me. Then again, you could use the method I used to distress my jacket and gloves: Vacuum Cleaner Lint. Isn't that just a tiny bit unhygienic? Most people seem to use "Fuller's Earth" for that natural "dusty" look, as it's fairly safe to use, and relatively cheap to-boot Plus, it usually comes in a "puffer" style bottle, so you can apply it only to areas you want and with a natural "blown dust" look I just use my kit regularly, and leave them to distress completely naturally - that way, it doesn't look fake in any way

Cheers gang, got my DIANGELOS today. Perfect all round. Nice made, great fit and looks like they will 'distress' quickly. I am taking them in for speed hooks to my cobbler, so will post pix then. And Dunleavy, Upper West Side NYC! Peace, Shiloh

Here are some pix! I paid my cobbler $10 for 12 speed hooks! Changed the laces, $1.00. According to him, they are cowhide, with a smooth finish, so distressing will come with age. They look and feel and fit fantastic. TOTAL $111, SAVED $330 over Aldens. Not to say I may save up, but these are grand!! Hope this helps! img707.imageshack.us/i/img1278wy.jpg/another img820.imageshack.us/i/img1279e.jpg/Indiana Shiloh!

I have been wearing these everyday since I got them and I say these are comfortable and just great. Shiloh I thought from comparing laces to Aldens the ones already on the Aldo's were more accurate. Why did you change them just curious.

Cheers Indydude2. The boot to me was a bit darker, so the new laces are not as dark as the ones they came with. A slight change to offset the boot! And yes, they are super comfortable!
