Chuck Heston again, but in "The Greatest Show on Hearth!" The very first movie Speilberg ever saw in the theatre...I guess he liked the outfit.

Stefana,
I had that same exact fedora that CH is wearing a few years before Raiders came out. Thanks for posting. It kind of brings back memories of the days when it was OK to have a fedora with some taper.
Cheers, G-MANN

I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Heston back in the mid-90's when he was promoting his book In the Arena. He was wearing an A-2 even then. He gave a great speech and did a book signing. I got to say hello and shake hands. I believe he was a gunner on a B-25 in WWII which might explain his affinity for the flight jacket.

Here's Desi and Lucy reenacting the raft scene from Temple of Doom. The only thing they're missing is Desi Jr as Short Round. This is from Forever Darling (1956). He wears an A-2 and a fedora in this film and in The Long, Long Trailer (1954). Come to think of it, Kate Capeshaw's performance in ToD is very Lucy-esque with all the screaming, crying, and whining.

Lucky you ! In his younger days, Mr. Heston was like the Harrison Ford of the era as he played many kinds of characters in many kinds of movies. As for the A2 in this movie, it is not an authentic one as it features only side entry pockets and no cargo pockets at all ! See ?
